Seven days before the zombie outbreak, I received an anonymous package. I didn't rush to open it.

Later, my roommate threw me out the door, and I was bitten to death by zombies.

She took the system that should have been mine, cheated her way through the apocalypse, and reached the pinnacle of success.

I was reborn.

One moment I was being torn apart by a zombie horde, the next I was lying safely in my bed.

I looked down at my phone, which displayed the game interface of a mobile MOBA.

I was duo-queuing with my boyfriend Marcus Chen.

The game had only just started, and I could already hear him muttering complaints.

Nothing but whining about not getting the jungle role, then cursing out his teammates.

My head throbbed. I closed my eyes and quit the game without hesitation.

Chapter2

"Rain, your package has been sitting there for days. Should I just open it for you?" Quinn Zhou held up a package box, looking up to ask me.

Her gentle tone made my eyes snap open.

That voice—I knew it all too well.

It was my nightmare.

Quinn Zhou.

In my previous life, she stole my system, got together with my boyfriend, threw me outside, and left me to be bitten to death by zombies.

Remembering that day, the intense pain seemed to return to my body.

Quinn loved taking advantage of others—everyone in the dorm knew it.

Tampons, body wash, cosmetics—she never bought any, just borrowed from others.

Things going missing from the dorm wasn't a one-time occurrence.

But she was clever about it, only taking things that weren't too valuable, so none of us pursued it too seriously.

This time, however, I'd had enough.

I gritted my teeth, forcing myself to stay calm, looking at her with amusement.

"A friend sent me a prank gift. Last time it was snakes and rats. This one's pretty light, so it's probably spiders or cockroaches... Are you sure you want to open it?"

Quinn's face went pale. Her hand trembled, and the package fell to the floor like a hot potato.

"Uh, Rain, I just remembered I have something to do. I won't help you open the package after all."

The door slammed shut as Quinn left the dorm.
