Apocalypse Space:Second Chance Chapter 13
More and more zombies were gathering around the dorm building.
I checked with the detector and found that with the dorm building as the center, red dots were converging from all directions.
This looked like a zombie horde.
After collecting all the supplies from the convenience store storage room, I headed back to the dorm building.
I threw some food items in the hallway.
Phoebe and the others couldn't take their eyes off the food, grinning from ear to ear.
Mineral water, bread, cookies—they all secretly took items to their rooms.
I couldn't help but find it funny.
The zombie horde was coming—what good would these supplies do?
I took advantage of the chaos to rescue Jenna from 509.
Seeing me, Jenna immediately threw herself at me in a big bear hug.
"Rain, you finally came back. When I heard they forced you to find food, you don't know how worried I was. It's all this stupid system's fault for malfunctioning at the critical moment."
"I was so afraid... I'd never see you again."
"Thank goodness you came back."
I told Jenna about the zombie horde. She quickly pulled me toward the stairs.
"Come on, didn't you say the zombie horde was coming?" Seeing me standing still, she asked.
I couldn't hold back my tears anymore, pouring out everything in my heart.
"Jenna, I saw Marcus. You know what? The first thing he asked me was where Quinn was."
"He said he never liked me from the beginning."
"He also said I was just someone he was stringing along for fun..."
"Tell me, am I pathetic?"
Jenna was silent for a moment before stepping forward to pat my back gently.
"No, it's him who wasn't sincere about love. He lost someone as wonderful as you—he should be the one feeling sad."
"You've always been wonderful."
"Without you, I don't know if I'd even be alive right now!"
We stayed a bit longer after all.
Jenna said she wanted to let me see the bad people get their karma.
A person was thrown out of dorm 503.
I recognized him immediately—it was the guy beside Quinn, Kyle Zhang.
I still hadn't figured out how Quinn had silently made it to 503.
But this definitely had something to do with Kyle.
He must be something special.
Maybe even an ability user.
I hadn't expected him to be so weak.
The door was ajar, and voices came from inside.
Quinn cried pitifully, weakly saying, "Marcus, he forced me. I never thought about betraying you."
"Forced you? Forced you to throw yourself at him? Did someone hold a knife to your throat? Bitch, you're just as cheap as all those other women." Marcus slapped her face repeatedly.
Quinn's face was red and swollen as she knelt on the floor begging for mercy.
"Marcus, please don't do this. I won't dare again, never again!"
Facing his former lover, Marcus ultimately couldn't bear it.
The next moment, he helped her up.
"Marcus, your... your arm..." Quinn couldn't help but cry out in alarm, backing up several steps.
"Making a big deal out of nothing. It's just a minor scratch." Marcus didn't care.
"But that's clearly... clearly a bite mark..."
"A bite mark? Bullshit, I obviously dodged... I wasn't bitten by a zombie... Ah... I'm going to kill you! Kill you!" Marcus suddenly became violent, lunging at Quinn.
Quinn ran terrified to the balcony.
She pressed her body against the glass door, blocking it.
Marcus, already turned, mechanically pounded the glass door again and again.
"I really can't stand you people." I walked in holding my hammer.
Marcus lunged at me but was tied up by Jenna with rope.
Quinn, seeing me like seeing a life raft, shouted desperately, "Rain, I was wrong about that. I was wrong. Please, save me!"
"Save you? Don't you want to know how Marcus found you so quickly?"
Quinn's face went deathly pale. "Was it you?"
"That's right, it was me."
"I knew all along he'd turned into a zombie."
"He treated you with all his heart, but you changed your mind so quickly and got together with Kyle."
"Also, that package you wanted to open for me earlier was actually a space. You know what a space is? The kind that can store supplies. What a shame you didn't get to take it."
Quinn gritted her teeth, her eyes full of hatred and unwillingness.
"Feeling bitter? Good, you should feel bitter. I'm leaving now. You and Marcus can be a zombie couple together!" I struck the glass door with my hammer.
The glass door instantly shattered, creating a large hole.
Then Jenna untied Marcus's rope too.
Before long, the door was completely destroyed.
Marcus lunged at Quinn...
Piercing screams echoed throughout the entire floor.
