Apocalypse Space:Second Chance Chapter 7
Thirty minutes later, the sky outside had turned completely blood-red.
Following a scream, the previously quiet campus descended into chaos.
The apocalypse had arrived as scheduled.
Roars and screams reached our ears in waves.
On the balcony, Jenna and I watched the scene below with pounding hearts.
The usually kind dorm supervisor had become unusually vicious, gripping a student's hand and refusing to let go.
The student struggled desperately, but it was futile.
Her arm was torn off by the supervisor, and immediately other students pounced, tearing and biting.
The dorm door was open, and several students were rushing toward it.
But they were all intercepted by the blood-covered supervisor, falling victim to her deadly grasp.
"Oh my God, Rain, this is too terrifying." Jenna gripped my arm tightly, her voice trembling.
To keep her from being so frightened, I led her away from the balcony back to our room.
The dorm's soundproofing wasn't good. We closed all doors and windows. Although we couldn't see outside, we could still hear the screams.
Even on the fifth floor, we could hear panicked footsteps and heavy pounding on doors.
We didn't know if they were zombies or people.
A few minutes later, someone knocked on our dorm 503's door.
"Is anyone there? Open the door." Quinn's urgent voice came from outside.
I remained unmoved, standing in place.
I'd have to be insane to save someone who'd pushed me toward zombies in my previous life.
But this was a human life after all. I didn't know what Jenna thought, so I looked at her.
Jenna acted as if she hadn't heard anything, casually eating chips.
"Rain Mitchell, Jenna Park, I know you're in there."
Outside the door, Quinn's voice never stopped, becoming increasingly agitated.
"Fuck, are you even human? Leaving your roommate outside to die."
"You bitches, scum..."
The knocking turned to kicking. After a scream, the hallway fell silent.
We had to be grateful we'd blocked the door with beds beforehand, or we wouldn't have been spared.
