Into the Alpha’s Keep Chapter 104: 104

6 min 2 views

All the disgust, hatred, and resentment I felt for him seemed to hit me in waves. I thought I hated him, until I was faced with his presence again, after months. I hadn’t realized the magnitude of it until then.

I leaned over him, showing my fangs.

“I’ve told you this many times, and I’ll repeat it: I’d rather die than marry you.”

He stood up abruptly and approached me, trying to intimidate me. He was much taller than me. I raised my face to stare at him, gritting my teeth tightly.

“And I’ve told you a thousand times, my love, that I’ll train you. You’ll go back to being the old Savannah, obedient and submissive. I will be your husband, whether you want it or not. You’ll open those slutty legs for me and satisfy me whenever I want, giving me heirs. Males, preferably.”

“And you’ll settle for the little life you’ll have by my side.”

My vision blurred with anger and unshed tears.

“Fenrir will never allow this,” I whispered, convinced.

Hunter laughed loudly.

“Oh yes, he will. You know why?” — I didn’t respond, so he continued: — “Because I’ll remove the mark from you, and that’s all that matters to him, the bond between your lives. Without the mark, he has no reason to come to your rescue. He has Marilyn, the bitch who’s been by his side for years, manipulating him and controlling him, without him realizing.”

“No,” I gasped.

“Yes, my love. The sooner you accept your reality, the better it will be for you. Fall in love with me again, be that well-behaved, submissive little wolf you once were. I’ll have some mistresses, but you’ll still be my wife, the mother of my pups, and that’s what matters.”

I took a wobbly step back.

“He’ll come,” I insisted, blinking to push the tears away.

Hunter pouted and stared at me, looking as though he pitied my situation.

“Oh, my dear. You…” He squinted his eyes. “You fell in love with the wolf?” His tasteless laughter made my bones vibrate. “Always so silly. Right now, your alpha Dăneşti must be enjoying the old lover, while she convinces him that she came with me of her own free will, because she’s always been in love with me. He must be upset about the mark, but he’ll feel better as soon as it’s removed and the bond between you two is broken. Then nothing about you will matter to him.”

I curled up, placing my fingertips on the table, trying to stay upright.

All the water I had drunk threatened to come back up as my stomach churned.

“You... lied to him?” I murmured.

“Of course! Marilyn was supposed to convince him that you came with me because of love, because I wanted her back.”

Fenrir couldn’t believe that. He knew how much I hated Hunter, how much he made me suffer. But, even though his relationship with Marilyn wasn’t great, he trusted that damn bitch. And Anton was dead.

Heavens!

If Fenrir believed their story, he must hate me. His best friend died, and I ran away with his greatest enemy. He’d blame me for Anton’s death.

I spread my hand over my heart, feeling a tightness in my chest.

I couldn’t breathe, as if the air had become too thin, not enough to reach my lungs.

Would he believe Marilyn’s lies? Would he believe I could be the one responsible for Anton’s death, that I would have the courage to run away with Hunter after everything he did to me?

For months, we clashed. I wanted the ritual and showed him more than once how interested I was, but things had changed, evolved between us.

And... I had damn well fallen in love.

I wanted to cry, to scream in hatred. My life had a tendency to find chaos. Everything was going so well, until Hunter showed up and destroyed everything I had worked for.

Of course, Fenrir would believe Marilyn, he’d known the bitch for decades. I was just an omega in heat who invaded his territory and mated with him. Wasn’t I?

Without the mark, he’d no longer have to worry. Marilyn and Hunter knew this and planned everything.

“Don’t be like this, my love. Fall in love with me again.”

“Fall in love with you?” I yelled, losing control. “After everything you did? You sold me to your males like I was some worthless object.”

He raised a finger in warning.

“It’s not exactly like that! At the time, I thought you were worthless, you’d given yourself to another male and weren’t exclusive to me anymore. They didn’t want to go near you, they were afraid of Fenrir, all those who had gone were killed. So I thought of... auctioning you off as a prize to tempt them to keep hunting,” he explained calmly. “It was only going to be once, a consolation for the risk they’d take.”

I was overcome with rage.

I grabbed the pot of green soup he brought for my dinner and threw it at him. He screamed, stepping back as the liquid burned his skin.

“You bitch!” he yelled.

I pushed the table toward him and ran to the door, trying to break free and escape. If Fenrir wouldn’t save me, then I’d handle it myself, but I wouldn’t spend the rest of my days trapped by Hunter.

I barely touched the doorknob when he reached me, wrapping his arm around my waist and throwing me forcefully toward the bed.

“You’ll regret this, Savannah!” he yelled, irritated, releasing pheromones over me. “Your alpha won’t come for you. He doesn’t like you. He has Marilyn, who’s a hell of a hot piece and is much smarter than you. Be content with me, because that’s what you’ll have in your life, and stop acting like a spoiled, rude bitch.”

I shrank against the mattress, folding my knees and hugging my body.

“Fuck all of you!”

He smiled, his face dirty with food and his skin red from the recent burn.

“You’ll only eat when we get home, now, to learn to be obedient.” He grabbed a dirty napkin resting on the sink and wiped the soup off his arms and face. “Even if I have to leave you starving to the bone. I’ll tear apart every part of you, until nothing’s left intact.”

“Good luck with that,” I taunted.

“I don’t need luck, my love. Broken people usually settle for crumbs, and that’s exactly what I’ll give you,” he growled, locking his brown eyes on me. “You’ll live with almost nothing, so that when I give you something, it’ll be the peak of your miserable existence.”

I swallowed hard.

“I despise you.”

He walked over to the couch, opened a backpack, and took out a syringe, holding it up to me.

“Every breath you take will be a reminder of your place by my side, where you belong, where you’ve always belonged. There’s no escape, my love.” He advanced toward me with the sedative. I pressed my back against the wall, trying to move away from him, with nowhere to go. “I’ll shape you to my will, until there’s nothing left, except what I want you to be.”
