Into the Alpha’s Keep Chapter 129: Epilogue

POV Savannah Dăneşti

**Three months later**

I helped Mihaela with the pups' snack, cutting the fruits into flower shapes, just like I loved to do. They had fun and always ate with pleasure.

I rubbed my sweaty palms on the light dress I was wearing and stared at the teacher.

"Do you need anything else from me?" I asked.

She smiled and nodded.

"You can go to your lake; everything is settled here, don't worry." She sighed. "Once they finish eating, I'll just assign a few more activities and let them go." She rubbed her hand over her forehead. "It's so hot, I know you're eager to escape this place."

I waved.

"I just want to take a relaxing bath in the lake." I placed my hand over the small bump on my belly. "Meet me there later, you and Alexandra."

She scowled, scrunching her nose.

"As long as Fenrir is anywhere but there."

I couldn't control the laugh that escaped my lips, drawing the attention of a few pups. Fenrir had the old habit of swimming naked, especially when I was at the lake. The last time she and Alexandra decided to surprise me, they caught us in a rather embarrassing situation.

"I can't say if he's going there," I revealed. "He's in Vanóia, talking with alpha Jax. I don't know how long it will take for him to return."

She raised her eyebrows with concern.

"Is something wrong?"

"I don't think so, he just called Fenrir to talk."

She huffed.

"If it weren't for the elders calming things down, I don't know what would become of us."

"How so?"

"Well... the alphas have strong personalities. All of them. I don't know how they would act if there wasn't a supreme law to keep them in line."

I made a face, agreeing with her.

"I'm leaving," I warned. "If you need anything, call me." I winked. "I'm getting better with my phone."

"What wonderful news, so now you'll learn to answer when people call you," she hissed, referring to the day she found me at the lake with Fenrir.

"Hey, it was just once," I protested, defending myself.

"It was twenty times."

I frowned.

"I think you're exaggerating."

She laughed.

"Do you know how to check calls on your phone? If you've already learned this foolproof technique, please, check your history and confirm what I'm saying."

She was probably right, but I would never admit that to her.

"See you later," I said, blowing a kiss in her direction, receiving a complaint about how bad I was with technology before leaving the small school.

I greeted the wolves who crossed my path, smiling at each one. Some stopped to ask about the pup when they noticed my belly, which was already showing. It was still small, but it was noticeable.

They treated me with love, respect, and loyalty. Not out of obligation, but because they liked me, cared about who I was, Savannah, and not their queen.

Fenrir was right when he told me that time heals wounds. I still didn't feel totally comfortable being alone, but I could spend moments just in my own company. The lake was my refuge, the place I loved the most. I also had my new library to add to the list. I would sit in the corner armchair and spend hours reading a book, with the fireplace on when it was cold.

I walked between the trees, rubbing my belly, distracted.

Never, in my entire life, had any place given me the sense of peace that Dăneşti did. It was as if I had been born to be one of them, to live among them, in these lands.

I didn't even notice the path, too distracted by my thoughts. I stopped in front of the lake and removed my shoes, then my clothes followed the same path to the ground.

I stepped into the water, testing the temperature before going further. My skin tingled, and I shivered as the cold water touched me.

I dove in, sinking and swimming to the bottom, smiling and enjoying the sensation of being in the water. It was as if I was flying, completely free.

I stayed there for a few seconds, swimming from side to side, having fun alone and laughing at my own thoughts. When my pup was born, I would take him with me to the lake, to swim by my side on hot summer days.

I closed my eyes and let my body float in the water while the sun kissed my skin, warming me.

I stayed still, savoring the sensation of peace and silence when I felt warmth on my chest. A smile appeared on my face. I didn't move or open my eyes.

His fingers touched my back, and he pulled me against his body, kissing my wet forehead.

"Do I need to be jealous of this lake?" he murmured, pushing the hair stuck to my face behind my ear.

I held onto his shoulders and wrapped my legs around his waist, climbing into his lap.

"Depends... I'm still deciding who I like to spend time with more," I teased.

He pursed his lips, pretending to be offended.

"Does it give you pleasure?"

I hesitated, pressing my lips together.

"Yes."

He squinted his eyes.

"But not like I do, obviously."

I couldn't keep up the act, bursting out laughing at the annoyed expression on his face. He was really getting offended by the conversation.

I leaned in, brushing our lips together.

"I love you," I whispered, planting kisses on his mouth. "Even though I like the lake," I added teasingly.

He grabbed the hair at the back of my neck and tilted my head, running his tongue along the vein pulsing on the side of my neck. I let out a soft moan.

"I love you," he replied, sucking on the sensitive skin.

That was it, just a simple touch, and I was already ready to be fucked by him. I was addicted to him, completely surrendered to the male.

He slid his hand down to my belly, which was in contact with his abdomen, resting it on the small curve it made.

"How is the pup?" he asked in a whisper.

"Very well."

He gave me a quick kiss before holding me firmly. He pulled back to look at me.

"I need to tell you something," he said, his expression showing concern. "But I need you to stay calm."

My heart thundered in my chest at that moment, and I felt my muscles tense. All the lightness of the moment was gone.

"What is it?"

He swallowed hard, his blue eyes fixed on mine, watching me. The silver around his pupils shone with an intense color.

I absorbed his emotions, recognizing the concern that surrounded him.

I took a deep breath, inhaling his scent, which acted as a natural calming agent for me. My wolf purred, always approving of having him around.

"I know where Selena is."

His hands around me became even more firm and strong, holding me in his lap. I gasped, and tears sprang to my eyes, blurring my vision.

"Where? Where is she?"

The weight of the longing, the months we had been apart, the time I had spent without news of her hit me.

"I need you to listen calmly and trust me."

"I trust you," I cut in.

He sighed, his fingers making idle circles on my thighs, as if trying to calm me.

"Selena is in Vanóia."

"With Jax?" I nodded. "Then why didn't you bring her?" I asked, my voice cracking.

"Because Jax didn't release her."

For a moment, I stood silent, staring at him without reacting. Then, a wave of anger washed over me, filling me from head to toe.

"What do you mean, he didn't release her? Did he go crazy?" I growled, my fangs extending as I lost control.

My emotions were all over the place. They said it was because of the pregnancy hormones. I felt everything intensely, so much so that I could barely control myself.

"Jax keeps her in a cage."

I tried to break free from him, to move away from his body, but he didn't allow it. His arms were like unmovable steel around me.

"He put my sister in a cage? I'm going to kill that damn alpha!" I shouted, tears streaming down my face. "I want to see her, I need to go to her."

Fenrir sighed again and stared at me intently.

"Jax won't allow it, little wolf."

"And you're not going to do anything?" I sobbed.

"Selena invaded his territory, it's beyond my limit. Just like when I took her for myself, imagine if Jax, or any of the other alphas, had invaded my territory to take her?"

"But she's my sister." I rested my head on his shoulder and cried. "And she's still in a cage."

"I know, Sava. But I trust Jax, and I know he won't harm your sister. Now, he knows who she really is. I told him about Selena, he'll take the right action."
