After the thousand-year war between werewolves and vampires ended, both sides signed the Supernatural Peace Accord, agreeing to rule the world together.

The accord stipulated that every hundred years, an interspecies marriage would take place. Human women would be wed to the leading families of the werewolves and vampires. Whichever family produced the first mixed-blood heir would become the rulers of the Supernatural Alliance for the next century.

In my past life, I chose to marry Marcus Blackwood, the heir to the Blackwood pack, who was famous for his deep devotion. I was the first to give him a half-werewolf son.

Our child, Aiden, became the next leader of the Alliance, and Marcus gained supreme power because of it.

But my sister, who married into the Fairview family out of lust for their beauty, ended up with a philandering husband. He wandered from bed to bed, and she contracted some kind of fae curse that left her unable to have children.

Blinded by jealousy, my sister, Chloe, burned me and my young son Aiden alive.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day of the marriage selection. But this time, my sister had beaten me to it, climbing into the bed of the werewolf heir, Marcus.

I knew then that she had been reborn, too.

What Chloe didn't know was that Marcus’s so-called "devotion" was nothing more than a werewolf's extreme possessiveness over their mate and offspring. His true nature was brutal, and he worshipped violence.

"Rebecca, Marcus and I are truly in love. Please, just let us be together, won't you?"

"Besides… we've already slept together. If I don't marry him, what will happen to my reputation? How could I ever face anyone again?"

In a daze, I heard my sister, Chloe White, crying out.

My father was there too, pleading her case.

"Rebecca, why don't you consider one of the other families? Chloe just made a foolish mistake."

My father always favored Chloe. I was the illegitimate daughter from his one-night stand, while Chloe was the child of his proper wife.

I looked up at Chloe, who was kneeling on the floor.

Tears streamed down her face, and she looked utterly wronged, but the ambition and excitement in her eyes were impossible to hide.

I knew it. She was reborn, too, and she'd already claimed Marcus for herself.

In my last life, Marcus Blackwood was my fiancé.

To me, the vampires of the Thorne Coven were cold and ruthless, the fae of the Fairview family were flighty and promiscuous, and the legendary Dragon Clan was far too arrogant.

Only the werewolves, known for their loyalty and devotion, seemed like the perfect choice.

Six months after marrying Marcus, I gave birth to our son, Aiden.

As the first mixed-blood heir, Aiden was naturally chosen as the next Alliance leader.

Chloe, meanwhile, was infatuated with the fae prince's handsome face and chose Landon Fairview. She never expected Landon to be a shameless womanizer who slept with anything that moved.

It led to Chloe being infected with a fae curse that not only left her barren for life but also made her an outcast in the Fairview family.

But she blamed all her misfortune on me. She was jealous of everything I had, so she drugged me and burned me and my son to death.

A wave of pure hatred washed over me. I wanted nothing more than to kill Chloe right here and now, to avenge my Aiden.

I clenched my fists hidden in my sleeves, the sharp sting of my nails in my palms bringing me back to my senses.

I nodded, my expression calm.

"Since you and Marcus are so deeply in love, of course I wouldn't stand in the way of that."

Chloe was so stunned by how quickly I agreed that the tears she’d just squeezed out hung awkwardly on her eyelashes.

"Chloe, get up. Go on, thank your sister for her generosity," my father said with a sigh of relief.

"Th-thank you, Rebecca," Chloe stammered.

She then joyfully ran out of the room, saying she was going to the Blackwood estate to give Marcus the good news.

"She’s just a girl blinded by love," my father chuckled, but when he turned and saw my cold expression, he quickly cleared his throat.

"Rebecca, the only unmarried supernatural leaders left are Silas of the Thorne Coven and Landon of the Fairview family."

"I think the fae family is a good choice. Their looks and their status in the Alliance are much better than the vampires'."

"And Chloe mentioned before that…"

I cut him off.

"Father, I choose to marry Silas Thorne of the Thorne Coven."
