Chloe picked up the child and stood, wiping tears from her eyes.

"Would I have resorted to this if you weren't whispering in my ear every single day about how you wanted a child right away? If you weren't so useless, would this baby look like a red wolf?"

As she spoke, she grew more and more self-righteous.

"Besides, the Fae said the child is yours, didn't they? As long as he's yours, that's all that matters, right?"

"The next Alliance leader will come from our pack. What right do you have to blame me? Shouldn't you be thanking me?"

Hearing Chloe's words, the leaders of the Fae and Dragon clans immediately stepped out from the crowd.

They spoke in unison, completely dismissing her claims.
