Reborn to Marry a Vampire,My Sister and Werewolf Ex Go Mad with Regret Chapter 3
"Miss White, this gown was hand-sewn by the artisans of the Thorne Coven. The scales are crystallized from the ancient blood of our people, and each one carries their blessing."
Silas looked at me with a deliberate distance in his eyes, as if I wasn't the woman he was about to marry.
"This is the first time our family has married a human. If there is anything that is not to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to tell me."
"Thank you, I love it."
Just as I was about to put the dress away, Chloe walked in, clinging to Marcus's arm with a smug look on her face.
"Sister, don't tell me that's the only dress you have to choose from? Marcus had ten different gowns from top designers made just for me."
The look in Marcus's eyes as he gazed at Chloe was pure possession and adoration.
Chloe only knew that werewolves were loyal to their mates. She didn't know their loyalty was a biological instinct, which meant they were just as obsessively, almost psychotically, driven to reproduce.
Would Marcus still dote on her like this if she failed to give him a child?
Silas's hand, holding his cane, tightened for a moment. He looked at me and said with utter seriousness:
"It is my Thorne Coven that has failed you, Miss White. But I give you my word. I, Silas Thorne, will never let you down in this life."
Chloe scoffed.
"Anyone can say pretty words. Let's see if you two can even have a child!"
All Chloe could talk about was having a baby. Her infertility in her past life was a deep wound, and now she was fixated on getting pregnant. She hadn't even married Marcus yet, but she was already living in his estate.
In a way, when it came to their obsession with having an heir, she and Marcus were a perfect match.
"You should focus on your own wedding, sister. Anyone who didn't know better might think you've set your sights on my fiancé again."
I gave Chloe a faint smile and, taking Silas's hand, walked away, leaving her and Marcus with ugly expressions on their faces.
Soon, I could hear Chloe's whiny voice cooing at Marcus, with words like "pregnant" and "baby" drifting after us.
My foolish sister. Even with a second chance at life, her only ambition was to birth an heir.
Silas's cool voice sounded beside my ear.
"Miss White, I know you only chose me because you had no other choice. But I promise, I will do everything in my power to ensure you are never wronged."
I turned instinctively at the sound of his voice and accidentally bumped right into his chest.
A strange, cold scent, like a forest in winter, filled my senses.
I looked up at him and said, word by word, "Silas, I chose you. And from now on, call me Rebecca. Don't be such a stranger."
I saw a flicker of something different in the depths of his eyes.
"Alright, Rebecca."
Three days later, the wedding day arrived.
Both weddings were held at the same five-star hotel, just in different ballrooms.
The werewolf wedding was even more lavish than in my previous life. They had even invited the reclusive Dragon Clan to attend. All the major supernatural families were there.
Our vampire wedding, on the other hand, was quiet. There were no outside guests, but the members of the Thorne Coven were all happy. Marrying a human meant they finally had a chance to compete for the position of Alliance leader.
After the ceremony, I ran into Chloe. She deliberately tilted her neck to show me the love bites dotting her skin.
"Sister, I had no idea werewolves were so energetic. It looks like I'll be giving the Blackwood Pack an heir very soon."
I smiled sweetly.
"Then I wish you the best of luck."
