The Alpha's Secret Heir Chapter 14
He called the butler at the villa to ask where Luca was.
The butler spoke cautiously. "Mr. Luca left at seven this morning. He hasn't returned yet."
Dominic sneered. An "I knew it" expression appeared on his face.
"What about the things in the room?"
"Um... they're all still here."
The butler hesitated. "But he specifically found a box and took that pair of silver bangles."
The silver bangles.
They were the only thing Luca's traditional family had ever given him.
He was born in a remote town.
It was said that when a child was born, parents would forge a silver bangle for the baby to ensure they grew up healthy and safe.
But Luca's was very thin. So thin it looked like it would snap with a slight tug.
Later, I couldn't stand looking at it. I took it, melted it down, and forged a new one for him.
After that, he cherished the silver bangle even more.
Dominic stubbed out his cigarette, thinking about yesterday.
On the bedside table, a delicate little silver bracelet had been resting on red silk cloth.
It must have been something Luca made in advance for the unborn child.
Dominic felt the pressure in his chest rising.
It was mixed with indescribable irony.
He really cared about that bastard.
Did he think his little scheme could fool the heavens?
Or was he sure Dominic would be too busy overseas to notice?
Dominic would never allow that child to live.
He threw on his coat. Just as he was about to leave, Chloe came out of the room after a shower, asking urgently where he was going.
She said she could go with him.
The deed hadn't been done earlier.
At the crucial moment, the window wasn't closed tight. The cold wind blew the curtains, and dim light fell on her face.
The Alpha pressing down on her seemed to suddenly wake up.
He shoved her away violently.
But if there was a first time, there would be a second.
Chloe didn't believe he could resist a soft, willing Omega like her.
Especially during this special time when he knew his mate had cheated.
But what caught her off guard was the Alpha's reaction.
Just moments ago, they were skin to skin. Now, he looked at her in the passenger seat and spoke coldly.
"Get out. Don't make me say it twice."
Chloe tried to argue. "Dominic, the snow is heavy. I can help with navigation."
"Get out. Do you not understand English?"
The second warning carried blatant impatience and Alpha pressure.
Chloe didn't dare to gamble. She got out of the car resentfully.
The black Maybach sped away into the vast white snow.
Left alone in the snow, Chloe felt a bit dazed.
Her phone buzzed. Mason sent her a message asking about her progress.
She replied blankly: I don't know.
Uncle, can you delay things on your end for a few days? Just say you can't book a return ticket. I want to spend a few more days with him.
The two first-class tickets back to the country were originally for Dominic and Mason.
But because Mason had a "slip of the hand," he bought one for his niece instead.
So the person accompanying Dominic on this flight became Chloe.
Before returning, Mason had patted her shoulder meaningfully.
"I heard Dominic's Omega hasn't been able to conceive. If you can give him a child, you won't have to worry for the rest of your life."
