The Alpha's Secret Heir Chapter 4
The cold wind mixed with snowflakes slammed against the giant floor-to-ceiling window.
The rustling sound was distinct in the quiet night.
I said, "Nothing happened between him and me."
That was the answer I gave Dominic after thinking for two hours.
The moment this pale, weak defense came out, solid evidence was thrown in front of me.
It was surveillance footage of me stumbling out of a hotel room in the middle of the night.
"After seeing this, what else do you have to say?"
After a long pause, I pinched my pale fingertips, my voice calm and numb.
"Yes, Julian came to me. He wanted me to ask you to help his family. I refused."
"And then?"
"He pestered me for a few hours, asking if I really wanted a child. He said he could help me."
"And what did you do?" The mockery in his eyes grew wider.
"I ran away." I looked up, meeting his scrutinizing gaze.
The Alpha's eyes were sharp as knives, determined to find a trace of lying on my face.
But the mist in my eyes covered everything.
Except for the redness around the rims, he couldn't see anything else.
Just like he couldn't tell if my words back then were sincere.
I touched my lower abdomen and spoke hoarsely, "You getting a vasectomy is your business, but I haven't been with any other Alpha. This can only be your bloodline. Werewolves have strong recovery abilities... maybe the surgery failed. If you're willing to believe me, I can give birth to it."
"Not necessary." He didn't hesitate for a second.
"Only the one lost ten years ago was worthy of being called my child."
"Luca, some chances only come once in a lifetime. Don't you agree?"
The buried past was suddenly brought up.
He got his wish, seeing the blood drain from my face. The pleasure in his eyes was undisguised.
"I've already booked a cleaning procedure for male Omegas. It's tomorrow."
The heating in the room was strong.
But I still felt a bone-chilling cold spreading from my chest to my limbs.
He had scheduled the termination while he was on his private jet.
The interrogation was just to confirm his suspicion.
Like a game of cat and mouse.
He just wanted to see me panicked and defenseless to vent his hatred.
He didn't actually care about the truth.
I went limp, releasing my hand from my stomach. Suddenly, I smiled. "Right."
Some chances only come once in a lifetime.
So, this second chance given by fate...
I don't want it anymore.
