The Alpha's Secret Heir Chapter 5
The room fell silent again.
The knocking on the door was urgent.
A girl's anxious voice came through the crack:
"Dominic, are you okay?"
Perhaps because no one answered for too long, she rushed in.
She froze when she saw us.
That was when I noticed Dominic had brought someone back.
A pretty, delicate female Omega, wearing a thin business suit, with Dominic's black cashmere coat draped over her shoulders.
There was a clear temporary mark on the back of her neck, emitting a faint scent of cedar.
Dominic's unique Alpha pheromones. It meant she was under his protection.
I looked at her name tag—Intern Assistant, Chloe.
A bold Omega, willing to follow him back from New York through a blizzard.
After seeing our state, she didn't scream or retreat. She stood there properly, speaking with an undeniable seriousness.
"I was worried something happened, so I came in to check. I hope the Alpha won't blame me."
"You haven't rested after such a long flight, and you rushed over here immediately."
"If an Omega has been raised with good manners, no matter what happens, they shouldn't scream at their mate, right?"
She turned her gaze directly to me.
I was a head taller than her. I looked her over for a moment, then suddenly laughed.
Yes, I came from a humble background, a border town.
And an Omega's innate submissive temperament made my anger easily dismissed as being unreasonable.
But as my peer, another Omega, she was lecturing me on the "Luna Code."
Suddenly, I felt nauseous. I covered my mouth and retched.
Dominic tensed and reached out to support me.
I slapped his hand away. Just as I was about to speak, Chloe stepped forward, cutting me off.
"Dominic, the car downstairs is warmed up. The housekeeper at the downtown apartment has dinner ready. If you want to leave, we can go anytime."
Dominic didn't come back to this estate often when he was busy.
He bought a large luxury apartment near his company.
Compared to this place, that probably felt more like home to him.
Dominic didn't speak, nor did he chase her away. He just stared at me silently and stubbornly.
Maybe he was waiting for me to say something.
Suddenly, I felt tired.
"Why are you still standing there? If the snow gets heavier, you won't be able to leave."
After a while, the Alpha finally stormed out.
Before the door closed, Chloe looked back at me standing alone in the bedroom. She gave a sly smile.
"By the way, we're leaving now. I heard from Dominic that your health isn't good. You should rest more and be careful."
Her gaze drifted down to my stomach, playful and frivolous.
"Otherwise, this hard-won child might be easily lost."
I couldn't be bothered to argue with a young, naive female Omega.
I wasn't angry. In fact,I was too lazy to argue with a young, naive female Omega.
I wasn't angry.
I even calmly took a bath.
Then, I picked up a few strands of Dominic's hair that had fallen on the pillow and sealed them in a clear plastic bag.
If love couldn't be a weapon, then I would use evidence.
After all, Dominic, you care about evidence the most, don't you?
