The Apocalypse:A Survivor's Sarcastic Guide Chapter 10
The surrounding wind gradually died down. Rain also quietly stopped.
I breathed a sigh of relief. Katie found it strange.
"One piece of meat could solve it—why did you make me cut so much?"
I rolled my eyes at her. "Zombies just fell down. They didn't die!"
She quickly pressed against the window to look. Sure enough, zombies had already stood up from the puddles.
They'd fallen into my yard, trampling all the soaked lights completely.
The first floor had installed all-steel security doors. Even windows had security bars. Zombies couldn't get in for a while.
But I couldn't trap them in the yard. Who knew if they'd mutate later?
Must eliminate them!
"Alright, battle begins!"
I brought the clothes-drying pole, looped my hair tie around it to make a simple slingshot, then placed a meat-threaded bamboo skewer in the middle, aiming at a certain zombie.
"Whoosh~"
First shot hit a zombie's head directly. The skewer stuck in. Meat smell wafted out. Other zombies immediately went crazy, desperately fighting for it.
Soon that unlucky zombie was torn to pieces. After their feast, they seemed to sense my gaze and suddenly looked up.
Throats making phlegm-like sounds, faces covered in viscous brain matter, mouths full of protruding teeth still hanging with meat scraps.
"You, you want them to kill each other?"
Katie's hand gripping the window edge suddenly tightened.
I smiled slightly. "Or should you go down and fight them?"
"..."
I stopped talking, picking up skewers to continue firing.
Chaos began again. Rotten flesh flying around the yard.
Katie watched a while, then found a clothes hanger to make a slingshot!
But her technique was terrible. Posture looked great—result: all skewers fell on the ground.
Truly more trouble than help.
"Never mind, you go cut meat!"
I snatched her hanger, telling her not to cause trouble here.
She awkwardly scratched her head, silently running to the back to cut meat.
While cutting, she complained: "Not even as big as Guangdong cockroaches!"
Me: "..."
Soon, only one zombie remained in the yard.
It kept tearing apart companions' corpses to find the smaller-than-pea meat on skewers.
I suddenly had an evil thought. I tilted my neck and asked: "Say, if I shoot it, what will it do?"
Katie put down the knife and ran over, eyes bright. "Only one left? Wow, you're so amazing!"
My eyes flashed with mockery. Surface unmoved, internally delighted.
"If you kill all the zombies, won't everyone else be safe?"
"No, don't cause trouble. After killing this one, we're moving to the basement. You stay put obediently."
Katie looked incredulous. "Why? This method clearly can kill zombies. They all die, the world becomes safe!"
I pulled out a smile. "Do you know how many zombies exist worldwide now?"
She shook her head.
I asked again: "Do you know how many bamboo skewers I have left?"
This time she froze completely.
I thought she finally understood our weakness, but unexpectedly she lowered her head seriously thinking about other methods to deal with zombies!
Whatever, solve the immediate problem first.
I aimed at the zombie's eye, about to fire the skewer when Katie suddenly screamed.
