The Apocalypse:A Survivor's Sarcastic Guide Chapter 8
I thought daybreak was coming soon. Zombies would leave quickly. With the big lights on, if she didn't want to sleep, fine.
To ensure she didn't cause trouble, before sleeping I specifically warned in a vicious tone: "Sleep or don't sleep, your choice. But don't mess anything up, or I'll throw you out!"
She timidly nodded. Only then did I contentedly lie on the couch.
Finally, mentally and physically exhausted, I fell asleep.
"Ahhhhhh..."
"Woof woof woof..."
"Crash crash..."
"Whooooo..."
In my dream, various sounds converged, making my head ache.
BOOM—
Thunder splitting the sky woke me.
It was raining!
I turned over—the window was rattling. Outside, lightning flashed, thunder roared, violent wind and rain.
"Oh no!"
The yard was already flooding. The big lights buried in the ground would soon all be done for.
Extreme weather already?
Suddenly, an exasperated voice came from my room.
"Wind, rain, thunder, lightning, stop! Stop! Why isn't it working?"
"Wind, rain, thunder—"
BOOM!
Thunder struck. I stood stiffly at the door, feeling like Thor was standing by the window striking me.
Seeing Katie holding that broken book, flipping through randomly, my heart sank!
"What the fuck did you do now?"
Seeing me, she immediately cried.
"I, I don't know. It says in here this can summon heavenly thunder. I, I just wanted it to strike zombies dead..."
What was she thinking?
As a modern youth, of course I didn't believe extreme weather was really summoned by her!
I just felt my intelligence was insulted!
She was a college graduate. How could she think of something as absurd as asking heavenly thunder to strike zombies dead?
I was truly impressed!
"Alright, stop crying. Put the book away."
I pulled out tissues for her, helplessly looking at the rain outside.
Torrential downpour with no sign of stopping. If it continued like this, even without being bitten by zombies, we'd drown!
"What do we do? What do we do?"
Katie was anxious like an ant on a hot pan, looking left then right, restless.
"Can you be quiet for a moment?"
I couldn't help shouting at her. Already annoyed, and she was squeaking beside me!
So irritating!
She immediately went silent, but my anger hadn't subsided. My face was flushed like an explosion, like a spark falling into gasoline.
"Didn't I tell you not to cause more trouble? Why do you never listen? Why always cause so much trouble? Everyone dislikes you—can't you see? Why run over to annoy people?"
"Originally I was fine here alone. If not for you, I wouldn't be this miserable! You're a disaster!"
Uncontrollable rage made me speak without thinking. Really bizarre and strange—just a belly full of fire.
Katie stopped talking. She sat quietly on the couch, shoulders shaking as she sobbed continuously.
Crying again. Can't do anything—when trouble comes, just cry!
"What good is crying?"
I was so angry my hair was about to stand up!
"Woof woof woof..."
"What are you barking at? You want to upset me too?"
I turned around angrily. Instantly suffocated. The sentence "you stupid dog" stuck in my throat.
