The Apocalypse:A Survivor's Sarcastic Guide Chapter 5
The entire day I was lost in thought, imagining thousands of scenarios for how I'd become a survivor when the apocalypse came, completely forgetting I was already in the apocalypse.
When the sunset cast its last rays on the earth, I immediately turned off the AC.
The woman at the door still hadn't mutated. Through surveillance I could see clearly.
Part of her brain had been eaten by zombies. The remaining portion was minimal. After a day of sun exposure, only about a piece of gum's worth remained.
I was a bit curious—did infection depend only on sufficient brain matter?
If so, I'd thought of a method to eliminate zombies!
Night fell. Zombies came out. They wandered the streets like a group of slow-moving street punks, constantly searching for isolated prey.
No lights on inside. I stood quietly by the window, silently watching them.
During the day I'd wondered—among zombie hordes, could there be a few semi-zombies retaining humanity?
Currently looked like no.
"Buzz buzz buzz..."
My phone vibrated in my pocket. Thank god I'd specifically set it to silent, otherwise in this silent earth, my ringtone would pierce the heavens.
The call was from my best friend. I didn't answer, letting it hang up automatically.
Right now I couldn't let anyone know I had supplies. Couldn't give supplies to anyone!
Every person for themselves—heaven destroys those who don't.
I'd be a survivor for now!
The screen went dark then lit up—a text message.
"Are you okay?"
I swiped right to delete it.
I don't care about others. Others better not care about me.
At a time like this, take care of yourself first!
Late at night, I really couldn't stay up anymore and fell asleep on the couch.
Not long after, I heard zombies going crazy. Without guessing, must be another stupid human running around.
At this hour, not finding a place to hide—what are you thinking?
Stupidity is a disease.
I turned over unconcerned and slept more soundly.
Suddenly, a light shone on my face. I opened my eyes abruptly.
Not mistaken?
Someone was shining a flashlight around my room!
A burglar?
How'd they get in?
If it's a person, that's one thing. But if a zombie got in...
Didn't dare think further. My heart jumped. Terrified, I held my breath, lying completely still.
