The Banished Shy Luna Chapter 135

6 min 1 views

The engines rumbled through the night, a slow crawl through twisting backroads and dense fog.

By the time the first streaks of dawn crept across the sky, my head was pounding so hard I could barely keep my eyes open. Every heartbeat felt like thunder behind my eyes.

The convoy finally slowed.

Through the windshield, I saw a sheer rock face rising ahead, moss-covered and ancient. It didn’t look like much — until Toren reached into the console, flipped a hidden switch, and the stone itself moved.

Massive iron doors groaned open, revealing a tunnel carved deep into the earth. Lights flickered on one by one along the ceiling, golden and dim. The air that hit us was cool, tinged with metal and damp earth.

“Checkpoint D,” Toren muttered under his breath. “Welcome home, Starlight.”

If home was a fortress buried underground, guarded by ghosts.

The convoy rolled inside. When the gates sealed behind us, the noise from outside vanished, leaving only the low hum of generators and the muted voices of wolves getting organized.

Tyson jumped out first, shouting orders. “Unload the wounded first! Shyanne—help Seraphim with the medkits."

Toren carried me into the infirmary—stone walls, runes glowing faint gold, rows of cots, and medical supplies neatly arranged. Healer Seraphim was already waiting.

The moment she saw me, her calm expression cracked. “On the bed. Now.”

Toren obeyed instantly, lowering me while Talon and Tyson hovered like shadows behind him.

Seraphim touched my jaw, then my temples, then my pulse. Her brows furrowed.

Tyson ran a hand through his hair. “Why is she bleeding? Why-"

Seraphim cut him off sharply. “Because your Luna nearly burned herself alive.”

The room froze.

Talon grabbed the bed frame like he needed it to breathe. “Explain. Now.”

Seraphim exhaled slowly, choosing her words carefully. “Kira didn’t just use her power. She unleashed it. She tapped into Luna energy in its rawest form—every wolf in her territory. Every bond she’s tied to. Every fear. Every heartbeat.”

She looked at me then, her voice softening. “You became the conduit, Kira. The power of an entire pack rushed through your body in one instant.”

Toren swore quietly.

Tyson’s hands curled into fists. “That can kill someone.”

“Yes,” Seraphim said. “And it nearly did.”

I swallowed, throat raw. “I didn’t know that would happen.”

“And that’s the problem,” Seraphim said gently. “No one ever taught you what you are.”

Her cool fingers moved from my temples to my sternum. The moment she touched over my heart, her whole body stiffened like she’d been shocked.

Talon noticed. “What is it? What’s wrong?”

Seraphim didn’t answer at first. She lifted her hand, staring at her palm as if it had burned her.

Then she looked at me—no, through me—with wide, uneasy eyes.

“I felt it,” she whispered. “Your power. Your lineage.”

Toren stepped forward instantly. “Felt what exactly?”

Seraphim took a shaky breath. “Healing is connection. When I work on a patient, I open myself to their aura to stabilize it. Kira’s was… overwhelming. Ancient. Untamed. But underneath it—something else.”

She pressed her palm to my sternum again. Her pupils dilated.

“That connection you created when you screamed… it didn’t stop at the border of the territory. It kept going. Past our lands. Past rogue lines. Past Council markers.”

Tyson frowned. “Where did it go?”

Seraphim’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Bloodline. It sought bloodline.”

My chest tightened. “You felt that?”

“Yes,” Seraphim whispered. “I didn’t just feel it—I felt him. The one connected to you by birth. The blood that mirrors yours.”

Her voice trembled.

“It hit me so hard I nearly collapsed.”

Toren’s eyes darkened. “You’re saying her father felt her?”

“Yes,” Seraphim said. “And he felt everything. Her power. Her pain. Her rage.”

She shook her head. “I’ve never felt a lineage bond that strong. Ever. Not in any Luna. Not in any Alpha.”

Tyson swore under his breath.

Talon stepped closer, voice rough. “If he felt her… he’ll come.”

Seraphim nodded. “And quickly.”

The room went cold.

Toren sat beside me on the bed, his voice low. “Starlight… Seraphim said you need training. Real training.”

Tyson leaned in, his forehead briefly touching mine. “Moon, if using your power almost killed you… we can’t let that happen again.”

Talon brushed his fingers through my damp hair. “You’re strong. Stronger than all of us. But strength without control is suicide.”

Seraphim nodded firmly. “You need a mentor. Someone who understands your bloodline’s depth. Someone who has the same… potential.”

Her gaze flicked toward Douglas.

Douglas didn’t flinch. “I don’t have her abilities.”

“No,” Seraphim admitted. “But your father does.”

The room shifted.

Toren straightened, tension rolling off him. “So her training… would require Mason?”

Seraphim nodded. “He’s the only one in existence who can train a Luna like Kira. Lunas with rare gifts need rare teachers. If she doesn’t learn to stabilize, the next time she pulls power like that… it could stop her heart.”

Tyson’s jaw clenched. “Then he’s coming whether we like it or not.”

Seraphim nodded. “Yes. And you must let him. The lineage connection is already open—wide open. He’s following it like a beacon.”

I felt sick. “I didn’t mean to call him.”

Seraphim squeezed my hand. “Your power did.”

Talon sat beside me, his hands shaking slightly as he brushed a wet strand of hair from my face. “We almost lost you.”

“I’m still here,” I whispered.

He swallowed hard. “For now.”

Tyson leaned in next, his forehead pressing briefly to mine in a rare moment of raw vulnerability. “Moon, if you ever do something like that again, I swear I’m tying you to me.”

“Romantic,” I murmured.

“It wasn’t supposed to be romantic,” he muttered. “It’s supposed to be a threat.”

I cracked a small laugh. “So supportive, as always.”

He grinned faintly. “You love it.”

“Maybe a little,” I whispered.

Seraphim adjusted the blanket over me and sighed. “She needs sleep. The kind that doesn’t come with arguing or strategizing. All of you—out.”

Toren didn’t move. “I’m staying.”

Tyson and Talon both said, “Me too.”

Silence folded around us like heavy cloth.

Then—

BOOM.

The infirmary door slammed open against the wall.

All three of my mates spun, fangs bared, ready to tear through whatever threat walked in.

Douglas stood in the doorway, chest heaving, eyes wide with disbelief and something dangerously close to fear.

“Toren,” he said, voice breaking. “Tyson. Talon.”

His gaze dropped to me.

“Kira.”

My heart stopped.

Douglas swallowed hard. “He’s here.”

Toren rose so fast his chair scraped the floor.

“Who?”

Douglas’s voice trembled.

“Mason Peir,” he said. “Our father just arrived…”

He stepped aside—and the ground itself seemed to vibrate.

“…and he didn’t come alone.”
