"Sienna and I aren't dirty like you say! We are just childhood friends!"

"What right do you have to bring her up? When she was in a car crash, you wouldn't even let me go see her!"

He pointed at Roman. "Roman, no wonder you were so angry last night. Ha, so you don't mind picking up my scraps, do you?"

As soon as the words landed, Roman punched him to the floor.

Only then did Caleb see the photo facing him—my father’s memorial portrait.

A black and white photo. No one could mistake what that meant.

Caleb looked up at it for a long time before speaking.

"How... how is that possible?"

"I just saw him that day..."

I let out a laugh, dripping with sarcasm.

"Yeah. You always thought I was lying to you about the wedding being my father's dying wish. You thought it was emotional blackmail."

"That day, you told him I would never find happiness. That was the first time you met him, and the last. Thanks to you, my father vomited blood right there. He had to endure agonizing pain to walk me down the aisle, terrified to say a word."

"That very night, he passed away."

"You say Roman has no shame? All I know is that he handled my father’s entire funeral. When I couldn't sleep night after night, he was the one with me. What were you doing then?"

I pulled out my phone and found the chat history with Sienna Blake.

I shoved the explicit photos and videos in front of his eyes.

"When my father was being cremated, you were having sex with her."

"When his ashes were being buried, you were in bed together."

"This is the 'pure childhood friendship' you talked about?"

I asked sincerely.

Caleb shook his head frantically.

"No, I... I was drunk. I was so angry. I thought you wouldn't tolerate Sienna. We were just friends, I swear..."

"I didn't expect her to... while I was asleep... but we really didn't do anything else. Really, believe me, okay?"

"I... I was angry at you this whole time because I thought you were cold, selfish, that you didn't care if people lived or died..."

"I didn't know you weren't... that's great, that's actually great..."

Roman scoffed abruptly.

Caleb glared at him.

"What's so funny?"

Roman pulled out his phone and played a recording.

“Don't worry, Caleb is pretty stupid. Today I just need to play a little trick to pull him away from the wedding. Piece of cake.”

“I’ve kept him on a hook for years, he's been simping for me for years. Hand him over to someone else? Don't even think about it...”

Caleb clenched his fists, veins bulging on the back of his hands, trying his best to suppress his rage.

I was suddenly curious.

"It seems no one ever thought you two were just friends."

"Is it only you who thinks that, or were you just making excuses for your own wandering eye?"
