Alpha Aidan's Rejection Chapter 108
AIDAN
As soon as Tara and Nadia were out of sight, I did the first thing that came to mind. Made sure the multiple entrances to the house were well secured from intruders and activated the security alarm system around the house.
I was back in my spot before Tara came back out, hoping that this plan I had in my mind worked. Having Stonewolves spring up where they both lived was a chance I wasn't willing to keep taking. Not after the scared look on Tara's face whenever they were mentioned, bringing back the trauma of her experience with them that prevented her from being able to close her eyes to sleep for months before now.
"How badly was Jace hurt?" Tara asked, cutting through my thoughts with the sound of her voice, eyes trained on me from across the kitchen island as she picked on her cuticles, nervous about the welfare of her friend, Jenna, and Jace.
I shook my head, voice low as I watched her advance. "He's out cold."
The outline of her neck held in a gasp as she asked with a shaky, higher-pitched voice. "Was he infected?"
I shook my head again, abandoning my drink and my thoughts altogether. "No. No. We were ambushed and barely escaped, and he was knocked out."
"That explains the blood?" Tara gestured down to my shirt, and I grunted in response. I watched as her head tipped back, a tired sigh expelling from her lips.
"What's going on!?"
"I wish I could explain that. They just won't stop, and we don't know what they want. But we're hoping to find out. We caught one of them alive," I told her, and hope flared in her eyes, right before the panic set in.
"That's dangerous, Aidan. W-why would you do that? There's no way to even talk to them, is there?" She asked, having experienced one of them firsthand.
She was right. In all my years, I hadn't seen creatures as vile as those. The wiring of their brains has been changed so much that the only thing they think of is to destroy, no matter how much it costs them. Down to their life.
"I wish there was another way, but I noticed something today. Some of them have not been infected for so long. At least the one we caught today." Taking a trained breath, I voiced out the plan. "We're going to try to heal them. Maybe one of them, just to see what we can find."
"Would that even work?" The hope rose in her voice, just as it was in my heart that we would be able to get through to them, and consequently put an end to their attacks. "There's usually no coming back from being infected…I'm sorry, I'm trying to be positive, but…"
"Hey, come here," I said, cutting off her rasping, seeing her chest start to heave as she spoke. She didn't have to drive herself mad thinking about pack problems. "Let me think about that. You worry about being okay."
Once Tara was within arms reach, I grabbed her, pulling her closer to myself, unable to hold back, and she let me, ignoring the blood from fighting them off on me.
"Let's get this blood off you," she said with a small wince after a few seconds, hands coming up to the buttons to pry them open as she helped me shrug the material off.
I quietly followed her up to the bathroom, my mind only returning to the present when her hands started to struggle with the belt on my waist, trying to undress me.
Watching in amazement, I recalled that Tara was shaken when I'd seen her earlier, panicking over the fact that there may have been Stonewolves anywhere around the corner coming for her and Nadia.
Now, what she cared about was getting blood off my hands?
My belt came undone, her eyes only briefly tracking up to where mine watched her, and I drank her gorgeous face in. She focused her attention back on the task at hand, pulling my zipper down, and I heard the breath still in her throat. Blood rushed down to my groin just by feeling her hands ghosting over me, and I fought the urge to let the sounds slip past my lips.
Shrugging out of my pants, my black boxer briefs came off next in one fluid motion, letting my cock spring free. Tara swallowed, and so did I, as every nerve ending on my body lit up in flames.
I watched her take a step back, my eyes no doubt now mirroring the heat in my veins, and Tara kept her eyes on mine as she slipped out of the dress she had on, baring herself to me. She stepped back into my space, reaching behind me to press the button, and in doing so, her erect nipples grazed my exposed chest.
I couldn't hold my groan this time, the choked sound rumbling in my chest and slipping through the back of my throat for her to hear. We weren't fucking, but we might have as well been with how insanely loaded the air around us was.
Water sprayed, but not even the coldness of it above our heads could douse the flames. I let my eyes drop close, falling headfirst into her charm as Tara's soft hands came up to work my chest, massaging the blood off me.
The next few minutes were quiet, my cock, painfully hard, a physical representation of what Tara did to me every time I saw a picture of her in my mind's eye, or in real time.
When the shower was finally turned off, my body rid of the reminder of the danger currently looming over Vermont Pack and my family in it, I then opened my mouth to speak.
"Your safety is the most important thing to me. You and her," I said, never taking my eyes off hers. "Me doing what I can to keep them away might not be enough to guarantee your safety anymore, so we have to make sure you'll be able to protect yourself if it comes down to it."
Tara nodded, following me.
"I can't hand you guns, but I can help you hone the defensive side the moon goddess gave us." Pausing to make sure she understood what I meant before I said it, I spoke again. "We have to train our wolves."
