A Magical Mushroom Soup Chapter 13
Jackson and I exchanged glances and nodded. I quickly took my brother while Jackson turned and kicked down our pursuer. The man tried to struggle but Jackson held a knife to his throat.
Only then did I realize it was Bleach.
I laughed. "Bleach, before trying to rob and murder us, didn't you measure yourself?"
Bleach said unwillingly, "The boss said if there are two plants, there's a third. If I kill you, I can become stronger too!"
I settled my brother down, then pulled out a plant and gave it to him. Bleach grabbed it and ate it eagerly. Watching him devour it, a wicked smile curved my lips.
"Sis, that's Tiger Grass," my brother said weakly.
"How do you know?" I asked, confused.
"I ate it before. Animals get stronger from it, but humans who eat it die from bodily explosion. I was lucky—I survived."
Bleach was still immersed in the joy of becoming stronger when he heard this, his laughter dying. The next second, his body rapidly expanded and exploded into meat paste.
I felt secretly fortunate—only because my brother had a special constitution had he survived by luck!
When Tiger gave it to me earlier, it had gestured that only animals could eat it. But I didn't understand why it gave this to me until I saw the Shadow Vault leader—then I understood the one-eyed tiger's intention.
It wanted the Shadow Vault leader to eat Tiger Grass because he'd been torturing and killing the tiger clan.
Thinking about how that leader had tortured my brother, fury burned in my heart.
I whistled. Tiger ran over from the distance. I entrusted my brother to Tiger, preparing to go to the Shadow Vault to avenge him.
"Not taking me along?" Jackson raised an eyebrow.
"Let's go."
"Cook me a bowl of mushroom soup when we win."
This was the price for getting a boss to help fight? Bosses were ridiculously easy to bribe!
