A Magical Mushroom Soup Chapter 17

Jackson stood at the door holding a gun. A bullet hole in the leader's left chest continuously oozed blood.

The Shadow Vault leader collapsed powerlessly. His eyes widened—he hadn't expected Jackson to have a gun!

Firearms and artillery had been largely destroyed by war. With the apocalypse's arrival and humanity's dwindling numbers, hot weapons could no longer be produced and were phased out. The age of cold weapons had returned.

Along with Jackson came some tiger clan members. The animals had been extremely agitated earlier, all wanting to run toward the Shadow Vault. Jackson had guessed I was in danger!

"Jackson, how do you have a gun?" I asked in confusion.

"The tiger clan gave it. But that was the last bullet." Tiger approached and nuzzled me, wanting praise.

After Jackson helped stabilize my wrist and was about to take me away, Tiger let out a pained roar.

I quickly turned back to see a knife embedded in Tiger's neck—the very knife I'd dropped!

Only then did I discover the Shadow Vault leader had actually stood up, and the bullet hole in his chest had stopped bleeding!

The leader smiled wickedly. "Didn't expect that, did you? My heart is on the right side. By the way, I have to thank your brother. If not for him constantly supplying me blood, I wouldn't have such strong healing abilities."

What could we do? The only gun that could subdue him had just used its last bullet.

He continued speaking to me. "You don't know this, do you? Your brother also ate Holy Grass and gained self-healing abilities. But unfortunately, I captured him. Day and night I made him give me blood. He constantly begged me to let him die, but how could I bear to lose him?"

I trembled with rage. His words were like blades stabbing into my chest. Self-blame, anger—multiple emotions surged up.

Only one thought filled my mind: Kill him!

Sensing the killing intent in my heart, the surrounding animals swarmed up to bite him. Their numbers were great, pressing him into a small mountain, but he shook them all off.

Then the one-eyed tiger led its clan to arrive. It placed an extremely red Tiger Grass plant before me, gave me a deep look, then joined the battle.

I looked at the Tiger Grass, my mind flashing with inspiration.

"Jackson, help me pry open his mouth."

The tigers charged forward, desperately biting the Shadow Vault leader. Unable to move, Jackson and I seized the moment, quickly prying his mouth open and stuffing the Tiger Grass inside, forcing him to swallow.

He flew into a rage again, shaking off all people and tigers. He frantically clawed at his throat but couldn't vomit anything. Then his body rapidly expanded like a balloon, inflating to the limit before exploding into meat sauce everywhere.

Finally, he was dead.
