A Magical Mushroom Soup Chapter 2

I planned to find more food and water before leaving the ruins, but suddenly felt a chill down my spine as a massive shadow loomed over me.

My body reacted faster than my brain—I dove to the ground as a putrid wind rushed past. Turning my head, I saw a ten-foot-long snake with its mouth open, spraying venom.

Not good! I immediately rolled away from my position. The snake's venom instantly corroded the ground.

Cold sweat ran down my back. This snake was enormous with potent venom. I gripped my knife, constantly surveying the terrain, thinking about how to escape.

Seeing me dodge, the snake hissed and attacked again. Surrounded by ruins, I used my size advantage to hide in a corner.

The snake clearly hadn't expected me to be so evasive. Enraged, it used its massive body to repeatedly ram the corner where I hid. The ruins weren't stable—bricks began falling continuously.

What could I do? With only a knife against this giant snake, I had no chance of winning.
