I collapsed powerlessly to the ground but couldn't stop laughing wildly. Evil people get their just desserts—I'd finally avenged my brother and Tiger!

Just then, Shadow Vault guards who'd gone out returned. Seeing the carnage, they were at a loss.

I held up half the Shadow Vault leader's head and addressed them. "Your leader is dead. If you don't want to end up like him, drop your weapons!"

After a moment's hesitation, they all dropped their weapons and knelt on one knee. Not just them—the one-eyed tiger led by kneeling to me. The other animals followed suit. Even Jackson beside me clasped his fist respectfully.

I'd never seen such a scene and hurriedly asked Jackson, "What are you all doing!?"

"This means they want you to be the leader."

I pointed at myself, too shocked to speak.

The one-eyed tiger said to me, "I once thought all humans were evil, until I saw kindness, bravery, and respect for animals in you. On behalf of all animals, I pledge to follow you unto death."

"We also pledge to follow our leader unto death!" the guards shouted in unison.

I looked at Jackson, somewhat dazed. How did I just become a leader?

Jackson smiled. "Boss, please lead us in the apocalyptic world to rebuild a beautiful home!"

Thus I became the leader in the apocalyptic world, shouldering greater responsibility.
