Four years later, New York.

On my third day as an outstanding graduate of the Royal Enforcer Academy, I received a report from a high-end restaurant.

When I arrived, only the human owner was shivering. Seeing my black Enforcer uniform, he quickly grabbed my hand and wailed, "Officer! That customer said he lost a bracelet, said it was a spirited antique. A hundred million isn't enough to compensate. He must be blackmailing me, but he's a werewolf, I don't dare offend him!"

I became cautious immediately. Disputes between werewolves and humans were the hardest to handle.

"Don't worry. I'm a Wolf Enforcer."

The priority was to find the bracelet first.

When Ethan called, I was bending over, searching under the table.

"This seems to be the seventeenth lost property report Officer Harper has received this month," his lazy voice came through the earpiece.

"Yeah," I replied while searching. "But it's good. No rogue wolf attacks mean peace and prosperity."

As we spoke, I saw a glint in a corner crevice. I rejoiced. "Found it!"

I quickly picked the item up. The moment I took it out, I froze.

It was a handmade bone chain, worn smooth by time, carved with a slightly defective camellia.

In that instant, my breath hitched.

I knew this bracelet too well. Four years ago, I treasured it for half a year before returning it to that person.

"Harper? Say something." Ethan's voice in the earpiece became alert.

I stood up and placed the bracelet on the table. My instinct was to leave immediately. But as I turned, I saw someone standing behind me.

Backlit, the man's figure was taller than four years ago, full of oppressive pressure. He stood in the darkness, his expression unclear.

Only those golden eyes remained exactly the same as four years ago. Cold, indifferent, yet looking at me with crazy obsession.

Then, Liam suddenly smiled, revealing white teeth, his eyes cold with rage.

"Harper Evans. Have you been happy these past four years?"
