The Blackwood family's intelligence network quickly identified the man: Jason Gao, the second son of a declining European werewolf family. He dated Chloe for a year, later followed her to find Liam, and held a grudge after Liam humiliated him. For this explosion, he bought massive amounts of wolfsbane explosives from the black market, planning for a whole month.

With the info, the capture mission was simple.

The police set up a task force. I guarded Liam for a day, and someone replaced me the next day.

Leaving, I ran into Maria rushing to the hospital entrance.

Seeing me, Maria froze, then realized, "No wonder Liam came to New York as soon as he returned."

She held my hand, eyes full of affection. "Harper, can you spend more time with Liam? He's had a bitter four years."

"If she says we can't be together, will you break up with me?"

My neck tickled. "Of course not."

I grabbed Ethan's hand messing with my neck and looked at him seriously. "No matter what happens, as long as you don't betray me, I will never break up with you. You are my wolf."

Ethan looked at me. Suddenly his lips curved, a smile carrying a hint of triumphant cunning. "Then you will never see that day."

His voice was deep and firm. My breath hitched. The next moment, all thoughts were kissed back into my throat.

"We didn't finish what we started last time," Ethan murmured hoarsely in my ear.

My heart moved. Then I felt a pain in my side neck. Ethan bit down.

Sharp canines scraped my skin, restraining from piercing the vein to mark. That dangerous edge seeped into my blood, spreading from neck to heart, to my whole body. I couldn't help moaning, "Stop torturing me."

Ethan chuckled, his hand sliding under my shirt.

I grabbed Ethan's shoulders, nails digging deep into his flesh. I heard a chuckle, then my hands were pinned above my head. Someone kissed my lips, calling my name over and over: "Harper, Harper..."
