Seven Days Before the Apocalypse Chapter 14
Zombies around the dorm building were multiplying.
Using the detector, I discovered dense red dots converging from all directions toward the building as the center.
It looked exactly like a zombie horde.
After collecting all supplies from the convenience store warehouse, I rushed back to the dorm.
I scattered some food in the hallway.
Seeing food, Phoebe and the others couldn't look away, grinning ear to ear.
They secretly took water bottles, bread, and crackers to their rooms.
I found it somewhat amusing.
A zombie horde was coming—what good would these supplies do?
I took advantage of the chaos to rescue Grace from 509.
Grace saw me and threw herself at me, giving me a huge bear hug.
"Rain, you're finally back. They said they forced you to find food. You don't know how worried I was. It's all that damn system's fault, malfunctioning at the critical moment."
"I was so afraid... I'd never see you again."
"Thank God you came back."
I told Grace about the zombie horde. She quickly grabbed me, heading downstairs.
"Let's go! Didn't you say the horde's coming?" Seeing me frozen, she asked.
Tears I couldn't hold back anymore poured out with all my pent-up feelings.
"Grace, I saw Ryan Chase. You know what? The first thing he asked me was where Chelsea was."
"He said he never liked me from the start."
"He also said I was just someone to mess around with..."
"Tell me, am I pathetic?"
Grace was silent for a moment, then patted my back gently.
"No. He's the one not sincere about love. He lost someone as wonderful as you—he should be the sad one."
"You've always been amazing."
"Without you, I don't know if I'd even be alive now!"
We stayed a bit longer.
Grace said she wanted me to see the bad guys get their karma.
A person was thrown out of room 503.
I recognized him immediately—Derek Townsend, the guy with Chelsea.
I still hadn't figured out how Chelsea had silently gotten into 503.
But it definitely involved Derek.
He must have been something special.
Maybe even a power user.
I hadn't expected him to be so weak.
The door was ajar, voices coming from inside.
Chelsea cried pitifully, speaking weakly: "Ryan, he forced me. I never meant to betray you."
"Forced you to throw yourself at him willingly? Did he hold a knife to your throat? Slut. You're just like all those other whores." Ryan slapped her face repeatedly.
Chelsea's face swelled red, kneeling on the ground begging for mercy.
"Ryan, please don't do this. I won't dare again, I swear!"
Facing his former love, Ryan couldn't bear it.
The next moment, he helped her up.
"Ryan, your... your arm..." Chelsea couldn't help crying out, backing away several steps.
"Making a fuss. It's just a scratch." Ryan dismissed it.
"But that's clearly... clearly a bite mark..."
"Bite mark? Nonsense. I dodged it... I wasn't bitten by a zombie... Ah... I'm going to kill you! Kill you!" Ryan suddenly became violent, lunging at Chelsea.
Chelsea ran terrified to the balcony.
She pressed her body against the glass door desperately.
Ryan, already turned zombie, mechanically pounded the glass door repeatedly.
"I really can't stand you people anymore." I walked in holding my hammer.
Ryan lunged at me but was tied up by Grace with rope.
Chelsea saw me like a drowning person seeing a lifeline, shouting for help. "Rain, I was wrong about everything. Please, save me!"
"Save you? Don't you want to know how Ryan found you so fast?"
Chelsea turned deathly pale. "Was it you?"
"That's right. It was me."
"I already knew he'd turned into a zombie."
"He treated you so wholeheartedly, yet you turned to Derek so quickly."
"Oh, and that package you wanted to open for me? It was actually a spatial storage system. You know what that is—stores supplies. Such a shame you didn't get to take it."
Chelsea gritted her teeth, eyes full of hatred and unwillingness.
"Bitter? Good—you should be bitter. I'm leaving now. You and Ryan can be a zombie couple together!" I smashed the glass door with my hammer.
The door instantly shattered with a huge hole.
Then Grace untied Ryan's ropes.
Soon the door was completely destroyed.
Ryan lunged at Chelsea...
Piercing screams echoed through the entire floor.
