Seven Days Before the Apocalypse Chapter 7
So Grace and I skipped class to raid a supermarket off-campus.
We didn't quite manage it—maybe because the apocalypse hadn't started yet... moral constraints and all.
Actually, I'd vastly overestimated this 99% compatibility crystal bracelet.
After a flurry of activity, I discovered the space level was too low—only one cubic meter.
Ridiculous.
"Rain, can you fit any more?" Grace panted, holding a large bag of snacks, looking at me hopefully.
I glanced at the space.
Ten large water jugs, crackers, bread, various snacks, plus some daily necessities—packed to the brim.
Not even a fly could fit, let alone a huge bag of snacks.
I shook my head helplessly.
We had to carry the remaining food back to campus.
Everything on campus seemed normal—students playing, attending classes.
But the blood-red light now covered more than half the sky.
In half an hour at most, the zombie virus would outbreak.
"Hey, Rain, where have you two been?" Chelsea stopped us.
She carried a bag, apparently heading to class.
"Where we went is none of your business." Grace pushed me behind her protectively.
Chelsea's face darkened.
"Grace Garcia, I haven't done anything to you. What gives you the right to talk to me like that?"
"What gives me the right? The fact that you knew he had a girlfriend but still threw yourself at him!" Grace raised her hand, nearly slapping her.
Before they could actually fight, I quickly grabbed Grace's hand and shook my head.
"Grace, we're short on time. We shouldn't waste it on people like her."
We ignored Chelsea and hurried toward the dorm building.
"Wait, Rain, is there some misunderstanding between us? And... there's still a calculus class this afternoon. Aren't you going the wrong way?"
Chelsea's voice called after us. We paid no attention.
Class?
The apocalypse was coming—screw class!
