Seven Days Before the Apocalypse Chapter 6
"Grace, the end of the world is coming. Tomorrow the zombie virus will break out, and the city will descend into chaos." I composed myself, my expression serious.
"Rain, I told you not to watch so many zombie movies. Look at you—you're talking crazy. How could zombies exist?" Grace shook her head, laughing dismissively.
"I know you don't believe me. Tonight at ten o'clock, a blood-red light will appear in the sky. Two hours later, the entire sky will be covered in red light, the zombie virus will outbreak, and the apocalypse will begin." As I spoke, I changed into sneakers, preparing to go out.
"We need to start stockpiling supplies now and find somewhere safe to wait out the most chaotic period."
Grace was stunned. "Wait... you said blood-red light?"
"Don't tell me..." A bad feeling crept over me.
Grace nodded.
I rushed to the balcony.
Looking up at the sky.
Sure enough, a patch of blood-red light covered a small area.
This bizarre phenomenon was once-in-a-century. Students were already taking photos with their phones.
The campus buzzed with excited discussions about the anomaly.
Little did they know, this was the harbinger of the apocalypse.
It wasn't even 2 PM yet. Based on how fast the red light had spread in my previous life, the zombie virus would break out in two more hours.
I had to stockpile supplies within those two hours to survive the most chaotic days ahead.
The campus was too small with too few supplies, and my space would be easily exposed, leading to trouble.
Plus I wasn't familiar with the space yet. Best case if exposed—being held hostage. Worst case—being killed.
Either way, nothing good would come of it.
The best option was to stockpile outside campus. Even if exposed, it wouldn't matter.
Because no one would be stupid enough to flee from outside into the densely populated campus.
But that meant I'd need to get back within an hour, leaving one hour to fortify our defenses.
Time was running out. I had to act now.
I turned to Grace. "Grace, if the world really ended, what would you want to do most?"
Grace suddenly grinned mischievously. "Hehe... I've always wanted to try robbing a bank."
"That's pretty hardcore!" I headed downstairs.
Grace called after me, her smile fading, eyes full of concern. "Rain, where are you going?"
"To raid a supermarket. Coming?"
