The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf. Chapter 29
Coban's POV
After everything last night, I couldn't sleep well. Trixie is our mate. I haven't even met her yet. I don't even know what she looks like. But I will. Today.
I get up out of bed and head to the shower. Damn, I just wish for once I could sleep in. That's just wishful thinking, though. Especially today. The tournament starts in just 4 hours. Well, the obstacle course of it.
After I take a shower and get ready we all meet in the dining room of our personal quarters for breakfast. Usually, when we have guests, we all join them in the main dining hall, but with everything that has happened and everything still going on, we have a lot to discuss.
"Samantha," I mindlink her.
After she got attacked yesterday, my brother and I told her to take the next few days off. She insisted that she was alright and wanted to continue working. I couldn't just put her back out, taking care of the guests. Alpha Melvin would definitely target her. I also can't trust just anyone with my mate. So I kill two birds with one stone. I assigned her as Trixie's personal maid. Since she will be my Queen, she has to be treated as one. She will be getting a personally made one as the Queen anyway, so might as well assign her one now.
"Yes, my king," she replies. "Come to the kitchen in the king's quarters. Take Trixie up some breakfast, please." I say.
Once everyone shows up, breakfast is served. We go over the pack business for the day. I will update everyone on what Gamma Calvin and I talked about last night.
"I can't believe Alpha Melvin actually had the balls to bug our office." Caden laughs. "Did he actually think that would work."
"I wonder if they learned anything from our conversation," I smirk. "The only thing he's gonna learn is how loud someone moans and that someone in the palace is a few pounds lighter." Caden laughs.
We finish our breakfast as we go over today's activities.
Evidently, Alpha Melvin is trying to move up the attack on the palace. We have the original date they're supposed to attack, and we will be ready.
Melvin also has Alpha Blake and his pack going for Trixie. They intend to grab her and hide her in the room with them, thinking no one would look for her there.
They're in for a very rude awakening. I will burn the world down for her.
There's no way in hell that anyone is going to get hold of her.
Once we finish breakfast, we all head to the obstacle course. Let's get this tournament underway.
Trixie's POV
That was the best sleep I have gotten since my parents died.
The bed is so soft, so comfortable. I could stay here in this bed all day.
I actually felt safe. Safe enough to go into a deep sleep. That never happens. "I told you we were safe here." Leigha proudly says.
After I get up and get ready, a knock is at my door. I go over and answer it.
"Hello, Ms. Trixie. I'm Samantha. I have been assigned as your personal maid. If you need anything at all, please let me know." Samantha says as she walks in and sets down a tray.
"Your breakfast, Ms. Trixie, please enjoy," she says. "Can I get you anything else?" she asks. "Uh, why am I assigned a personal maid?" I ask.
"King's orders, Ms., is there anything else?" she asks.
"No, thanks, Samantha," I say as she walks out of the room.
King's orders. A personal maid. Personalized dinner last night. Breakfast was brought to me in my room. What's going on?
I do know one thing. I am hungry, and this breakfast smells amazing. Is everything cooked here amazing? Duh. This is the palace. Everything is going to be perfect.
I sit down and take the lid off the tray.
Bacon, eggs, blueberry pancakes, toast, sausage, and cinnamon apple oatmeal. I'm definitely going to gain 50 pounds in two weeks.
How do they know what I like to eat? How do they keep guessing my favorites?
I'd better eat. I never know if my uncle will find me. If he does, I know I'll be punished. I know he will starve me.
"We're safe, dear. I already told you. He can't touch us here." Leigha says.
"He can't touch us here. What are we, the Queen now?" I say as I roll my eyes.
"Exactly," Leigha replies, then she retreats into the back of my head.
"Leigha," I try to call for her. "Leigha," I try again.
Why does she always drop a bomb and leave? Or insinuate something and leave. Why leave.
What the hell do you mean?
"I mean EXACTLY what I said," she says, then leaves again.
"I mean what I said," I mock her. "Exactly. I'm Queen Trixie," I say as I roll my eyes.
