The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf. Chapter 51
Trixie's POV
Leigha and I keep sending our emotions through the bond. Hoping they will get the message. Hoping they will realize we're still in the tunnels. Hoping they send help.
Sabrina and Tina are quiet. They are worried. They are scared. I get it. I am as well, but for different reasons. I just met Coban and Caden, and now they're in danger.
What if they get hurt? What if something happens to them?
"Don't think about that, Trix. They are both Kings. They will be fine." Leigha says as she tries to calm me down.
We're all sitting here, caught up in our own thoughts, when we hear something, no, someone.
"It's Darien. He found us." Leigha says.
"Really! Are you sure?" I say excitedly.
"Girls, help is here. Darien is coming through the tunnels now. Let's go!" I say to them.
We all stand up and start moving towards the exit we were supposed to go through a while ago.
“Trixie," Darien says. "I mean, My Queen." He smirks.
"Enough, Darien. I'm just Trixie, I'm not the Queen." I say sheepishly.
"Not officially, but yes, Queen Trixie." He grins.
"Let's get you ladies out of here."
We get out of the tunnel. Finally, I take a deep breath, then another.
“Thank you, Darien, Lucian, for coming for us," I say to them.
"It was your mate, King Coban, who sent us saying you needed help. And for us to go get His Queen." He admits.
Coban. I figured it would be him.
“Trixie, you were right. You said that they would understand the message. You said that Coban would get it." Tina rambles.
"How's everything downstairs. Are they alright?" I ask.
Just as I ask him, I get a pain in my chest. UGH. I move my hands to my chest, holding my chest, my heart.
"My Queen. What's wrong?" Lucian asks as both Darien and Lucian get me to the sofa and sit me down.
"Pain. Chest." That's all I can say.
"Mate is hurt. We have to get to him. We can help save him." Leigha says.
"Fuck" Darien shouts.
Darien's eyes glaze over. He's mind linking someone.
"Darien, Leigha said that one of her mates, my mate, was hurt. He needs me. We need to go." I tell him frantically.
"It's Caden. He's been shot!" He says.
Coban's POV
We're holding. Fighting rogues. Fewer now. Slower. The fights about over. I think to myself when a pain hits my chest.
DAMN!!!! That hurt.
"Coban, I've been shot." Caden says through mindlink. Caden. Hell no!!!
"Guys, hold the line. Fill in my spot!" I scream as I move out of line and to the back.
"Caden," I say through mindlink. No answer
"Brother," I try again.
Fuck. He's down. I rush to the ballroom.
"Kevan, Caden is down. Go to the Palace entrance. Mark, the ballroom. Cover our spots!!!" I order.
I shifted as I was on my way to the ballroom. I was right. Caden, on the ground. Blood on his chest and coming out of his mouth.
"He's out cold. It was a silver bullet." Conan says. I pick him up and get him to the meeting room, where I know our doctors are already there.
"Eugene, Caden has been shot. It was a silver bullet." I tell him.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Why him?
Eugene makes quick work of extracting the bullet and getting him hooked up on machines.
"Kevan, report," I order.
"The attack at the entrance has stopped. I still have warriors holding the line for now, in case another wave of rogues comes. I also ordered repairs. A quick fix for the night." He says.
“Mark, report," I say. "The attack stopped a few minutes ago. We have plastic covering the hole temporarily. I do still have warriors holding a line at the damn hole in the wall just in case. I have a crew coming to repair the hole temporarily as well." He says.
"Get the wounded to the waiting room. There's triage already set up. Don't bring any into the sitting room unless they are critical!" I ordered both my gamma and beta.
"Got it," they say in unison.
A hand is placed on my shoulder from behind. I turn to see who it was when I hear the sweetest, most angelic voice I've ever heard. "Coban, I can help Caden." She says quietly.
It's Trixie. My mate. My Queen.
She runs her hand over my shoulder gently. Then she moves to Caden's bed, right beside him, without any words at all. She places both hands on Caden's chest. I go to stop her until Conan speaks. "Trust mate, they can help."
A bright, blinding light comes from her. It's so bright I have to squint my eyes.
She looks down at her hands and gently presses down. It only takes a few minutes but even that felt like hours.
Then the light goes away. She moves one hand from his chest and cups his cheek.
"Caden, talk to me. It's me, Trixie. I'm here." She says softly to him.
