The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf. Chapter 34

Coban's POV

I went to my quarters after we left the course. All I can think about is Trixie. My mate. Her scent.

"We need to go to mate. We need to go see her." Conan says. "We will, buddy, I promise."

"Brother, oh shit, Fuck." Caden says frantically through mindlink. "He's scared," Conan states.

My Lycan is right. I don't know what happened, but something sure the hell did. "Caden, calm down. Are you alright? What happened?" I asked.

"Brother, it's over before it started. Shit shit shit," he continues. "He's losing it; this can't be good," Conan says. Yeah, I agree. This behavior is odd for my brother. He's usually happy-go-lucky. Something definitely has him spooked. "Caden, brother, just calm down. Where are you at?" I ask.

Just as our link closes, my brother burst into my room. Oh shit. I have never seen my brother in this shape. Shit, this definitely is bad. His face is swollen and red as can be, and tears are falling from his eyes like a faucet. Caden is actually crying. He never cries. Not even when our parents died would he let his tears fall. Oh shit, it can't be. "Brother, is Trixie alright?" I ask as I walk over and sit beside him. Shit, he cries harder.

"Darien, are you and Lucian on the second floor. Are you two guarding Trixie?" I asked in a rush tone through mindlink. "Yes, my king. She's in her room. Samantha had already brought her lunch. They were in there talking earlier," he replies. Well shit. What the hell can be the problem?

"Caden, hey, calm down," I say, trying to soothe him. "Do you want to tell me what's wrong?"

I ask. He looks up at me. Damn, he looks like a mess. He takes a few deep breaths. He tries to pull himself together.

"Brother," he says, then pauses. I wait for him to speak. I don't want to interrupt him.

"I really fucked up," he said as he looked at me. Damn, he looks heartbroken. "Man, it can't be that bad," I say, trying to make him feel a bit better.

"No, you don't understand. I truly fucked up. Damn, I'm a worthless piece of shit. There's no way to fix this. Shit." He screams as he gets up and paces the room.

Caden explains everything. Every little detail as he breaks down again. When he's finished letting me know everything, the room goes silent.

We don't speak. We can't.

I'm fuming. Damn, I'm so pissed right now.

"Block your feelings. What he did was wrong and very messed up, but look at him. He realizes what he did. He regrets it. He is truly miserable." Conan says, and I agree. So I put up a block, not wanting to make this situation worse. It's already bad enough. How the hell can he do this to Trixie? We haven't even met her yet. Yeah, there's no way she will forgive him.

I do know one thing for sure. I have to try and fix this. Not only because she's my mate and my brother, but I can't stand to see him like this.

First things first. "Kevan set up for all the ladies waiting to leave in the morning after breakfast. They are no longer needed here. I want every last one of them gone. No excuses. They all leave. That's an order." I say through our link.

"Coban, may I ask why. You know the elders are going to be here as soon as they catch wind of this." He questions.

"Get rid of them. That's an order. My brother and I will make an announcement tonight at the ball." I say. "Oh, and beta, we found our mate. So if anyone asks why, then tell them."

"Who," he asks. "You will find out soon enough," I say, then close the link.

Now that's taken care of, comes the hard part. Forgiveness. It's worth a shot. Damn, I didn't wanna meet my mate for the first time under these circumstances. Damn. This is not how I wanted to do this. Not how I wanted to meet her.

"Mate is special. She will forgive his stupidness. Mate won't get mad. She will only be concerned about Caden. She will calm him down and reassure him that it's all right. Trust mate." Conan says. Boy, I hope he's right.

That's definitely going to be far from the truth, though. She's definitely going to lose her shit.

"Caden, let's get you cleaned up," I say to him

"It doesn't matter anyway. I messed up. It can't be fixed." He cried as he just sat there shaking his head. "You go talk to her alone. You didn't mess up. You should still have a chance. This was me, not you. Just tell her I'm sorry." Caden says to me, looking towards the floor.
