The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf. Chapter 50
Coban's POV
Damn!!! Three explosions. Three!!! We were expecting only one.
"Sorry, human. I only saw one explosion. The one at the dungeon." Conan says sadly.
"Buddy, thanks to you, we were at least prepared and had warriors placed. Thanks to you, we were able to warn them, giving them a chance to get to safety." I say, trying to help calm him.
We were expecting an attack in five days anyway. Is this the attack? Did they move it up?
"It sure the hell looks that way," Conan responds.
Our warriors at the palace entrance are doing a damn good job holding our line, but too many rogue wolves are leaping through.
"They have to shift," Coban screams.
He is right. Yes, firepower is good and all, but not for a dozen or more feral wolves that're leaping and attacking you, trying to claw at you and rip out your throat.
"Warriors, that's already posted at the palace entry, Lycans move to the front line, wolves to the back line. Wolves control your fire. LYCANS SHIFT". I announce.
All at once, the gunfire became more controlled, less frequent, but still very effective. Lycan warriors slipped to the back, while the wolves, still unshifted, are now up on the front line, firing, trying to hold back the rogues.
All Lycans then shift.
Then the line shift, wolf warriors in back, Lycans moved to the front.
One swift motion. Together. Moving as one.
The line holds. Stronger now. More effective.
"Caden, how's it going in the ballroom?" I ask.
"As good as it can be with a big ass hole blown out of the wall and fuckers keep attacking." He replies.
"King, Move, Behind you!!!" I hear Calvin come and push me out of the way. He hits the ground with a thud, grabbing his chest.
"Calvin". I scream.
"Eugene, you, Barry, Henry, and Elizabeth downstairs NOW!!! Set up triage in the first-floor meeting room. Now!!! I'm sending a warrior in, gunshot wound to the chest, silver bullet!"
I give orders to my personal Royal Doctors, who are always on call inside the palace.
"Gabe, take Calvin to the meeting room. Immediately." I order.
"Gamma, hang in there," I say as I place a hand on his chest, ignoring all the fighting around us at the moment.
"Trixie, tell her I love her. Take care of her, Coban." He mumbles, blood spluttering out of his mouth.
"Sorry, Gamma, but you will have to tell her yourself," I say to him.
"That is not going to happen." He laughs as more blood splutters out of his mouth.
"Gabe," I call out as he appears beside me, grabbing him off the ground and carrying him away.
"Caden, we're the target. Calvin has been shot."
I say as I shift. I'm pissed.
I have to get control and speed this fight up.
I move to the front of the line, ignoring all warnings from my warriors.
I unleash HELL, taking out many of the rogues myself. I'm taking out 2 to 3 to their one.
Three rogues leap towards me, all at once.
Conan raises his arm, claws out, with one motion, one swipe, he rips the first rogue's head clear off his shoulders. The second rogue's head hits the ground. His body falls. The third rogue, he rips his throat out and holds it in his hand.
Damn, how many of them are there?
"Lycans Unleash Hell," I scream.
Caden's POV
It's times like these I'm glad we're twins.
Coban is leading at the Palace entrance, and I'm trying to control the chaos in the ballroom.
Guests are screaming bloody murder.
"Rogues, there are too many. They're getting through." Drake screams as a few rogues leap and get past our warriors, and they come into the room.
"We have to shift," Drake screams as we shift.
"My King. You can take care of what you need to. I got this." Alpha Samuel says as he stands up, half shift, and takes out the rogues that made it into the room.
"Thanks, Alpha," I say as I storm to the wall.
"LYCANS," I scream as I go to the front center of the line. "Let's send them straight to hell!!!" I continue, "Don't let any more get in. Tighten the line."
More and more rogues come at us, faster.
I'm clawing at their throats and ripping heads off their bodies.
We're holding the line. No more gets through.
They're coming at us slower now. Less often.
Then it hits me, a bullet, straight to the chest.
Damn, it hurts. I step back off the front line. I somehow make it behind both rows of warriors who are still fighting. "Coban, I've been shot," I mindlink him, and then I drop to the ground.
"The King Is Down!!!!!!" Someone screams.
Then everything goes dark.
