The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf. Chapter 32
Trixie's POV
I can't believe Charlie actually said Cal cheated. It wasn't even a competition. Why would he say that? Then he spun it, saying he had been sabotaged. I say there watching Melvin accuse the kings. Yeah that was a mistake. Well, at least he's gone for the time being. If they keep this up their entire family will be in the dungeon.
After Cal. finished the course I let Darien and Lucian know I was ready to go back to my room.
I was told by them earlier this morning that they had orders from the king to escort me to the event and back personally. I mind linked Cal. and told him I was going back. I also congratulated him on completing the course.
He congratulated me as well. I know I wasn't competing. I'm just glad the Kings let me run it. That meant so much to me. I knew I could complete it.
When we got to my room, Darien and Lucian entered with me, cleared the room, and made sure no one was inside. Once they were satisfied, they left.
Only a few minutes after I arrive, Samantha shows up.
"Ms Trixie" she says as she bows. "Should I run u a bath." she smiles as she speaks.
This caught me off guard. The attention. The personal maid. The personal escort.
The kings must see I'm in trouble.
They want to help.
"Keep telling yourself that." Leigha laughs.
"Please enlighten me then. What would you say is going on. Huh." I respond as I roll my eyes.
"Silly, blind girl. I know exactly what's going on," she says.
"Samantha, you know I can do things for myself." I kindly say to her.
"Sorry, Ms. Trixie. It's just. I am only doing my job. That's the orders directly from the kings." she said shyly.
Samantha. I like her. She's very friendly and polite. I can tell she's a good person.
"Samantha, please, it's just Trixie or Trix. I can really do things for myself but I could always use someone to talk to." I say as I give her a kind and genuine smile.
"Ms. Trix," she started to say. "I mean Trixie. I'm going to grab your lunch. You must be hungry," she says as she bows and leaves the room.
Not long after, she comes back with a huge tray and sets it down. "Your lunch, Trixie. Please enjoy," she says.
"Samantha would you please join me for lunch. I would really enjoy the company." I say to her motioning for her to sit as I remove the cover from the tray.
Turkey club sandwich and French fries. There is also chocolate cake for dessert. Omg, is that a mocha-flavored iced coffee? My favorites once again. I am being treated as if we're the Queen. I'm definitely not used to this.
It took Samantha a few minutes to warm up to me, but she eventually did. She told me her close friends call her "Sam" and asked me to do the same.
We sat and talked about random things as we finished eating our lunch. We were laughing and having a good time.
"So Sam , how do you do it." I begin. "You're around the kings a lot. How do you keep yourself from staring?" I giggle. "That Trix is a hard and almost impossible task." she giggles back. "They are like Greek Gods. Their face is perfect. Their eyes I could get lost in. They are literally a walking violation. But Sam, how do you tell them apart?" I ask. "Well, Trix, you see, King Coban has hazel eyes where King Caden has ice blue eyes," Sam says as she mock fans herself. "Have they found their mate?" I ask
"No, they haven't. The elders are trying to get them to take a chosen mate, saying they need to produce an heir," she says.
We continue to talk, to laugh and to enjoy each others company. I ask her many questions about the palace. About the kings. She tells me she lost her parents as well, at a very young age. She tells me more about what happened when Uncle Melvin arrived, and she goes into detail about what Trinity did to her and how King Coban showed up and helped her. I have to admit, King Coban sounds sweet and amazing. I'd love for the moon goddess to pair me with a mate like him. I'm not sure about his twin brother though. He sound like a player to me. Jumping from woman to woman.
We lose track of time as Sam's eyes glaze over.
“I'm sorry Trix. I have to go." she says abruptly as she gets up and leaves.
After she leaves I go to stand up and as I do I had the sharpest pain that I ever felt in my chest.
"Leigha, what's with this pain. Oh it hurts so bad. What's happening." I ask her as I grab my chest.
"Betrayal," she huffs as she retreats in my head.
