Lies and Funerals Under the Moon Chapter 10
Liam turned his head, looking at her with eyes so vicious it felt like he wanted to flay her alive.
Katrina felt a chill down her spine. She stammered, "This... maybe she's just bluffing?"
Liam nodded. "Right. Kate is definitely bluffing. This document must be fake."
"We grew up together. We are fated mates chosen by the Moon Goddess. She didn't leave last time, she won't leave this time. She can't bear to leave me."
Thinking this, Liam rushed to the master bedroom.
He frantically entered the code to the safe and pulled out all the documents.
He searched through everything, but he couldn't find the mate agreement Kate made him sign when he returned.
Katrina walked up behind him.
She was holding the dissolution paper.
"I asked a friend to check. This document is real. The Council approved it. Kate really divorced you."
As she spoke, her eyes were glued to the deeds and asset certificates scattered on the floor.
Dozens of property deeds.
And since Kate dissolved the bond...
All of this was hers now!
Katrina’s anxiety vanished. She squatted down beside Liam, acting considerate.
"Liam, don't worry. Kate is surely just throwing a tantrum because she sees you care about me."
"Find her, explain things properly. I'll apologize to her face to face."
"Once she cools off, she'll come back. But honestly, dissolving the bond isn't a good habit. Maybe let her cool down for a few days. She might regret it and come back begging you."
She tried to slander Kate subtly.
But this time, Liam interrupted her with a dark face.
"Shut up!"
Katrina’s face twisted, but she didn't dare speak again.
Liam slumped on the floor.
Downstairs, the doorbell rang again.
Liam didn't move. The maid answered it and came up shortly.
"Alpha, a man claiming to be the former Luna's attorney is looking for you."
Liam finally went downstairs. Katrina followed closely.
The lawyer held a file. Seeing Liam, he spoke politely.
"Mr. Blackwood, I am Ms. Katherine Sterling's attorney. I am entrusted by her to handle the asset liquidation following the dissolution of your partnership."
"This mansion now belongs to Ms. Sterling. Please, along with this lady, vacate the premises immediately. Otherwise, we have the right to call the police."
Before Liam could speak, Katrina jumped out.
"Why is it hers just because she says so? She's the one who left! Shouldn't she leave with nothing?"
The lawyer looked at Katrina with subtle disdain.
He smiled. "Ma'am, perhaps you don't know. Mr. Blackwood signed an agreement. If he cheated again and Ms. Sterling requested separation, Mr. Blackwood would..."
"Leave with nothing. Including his Alpha title."
Katrina looked at him in disbelief. "What?!"
She grabbed Liam’s arm. "Liam, is this fake? The pack is yours! Why would you give it to her?"
Liam spoke calmly, mumbling. "It's real."
He looked at the lawyer. "Where is Kate? I can give her everything she wants. But I don't want to dissolve the bond. I want to see her!"
The lawyer smiled. "Mr. Blackwood, I'm afraid you won't be able to see her."
Outside, the sound of Council Guard vehicles approached.
The lawyer looked at Liam.
"Ms. Sterling has filed a complaint with the Alpha Council and the police. She is charging you with malicious injury to a fated mate. And she refuses mediation."
