"Levi, Mason just got out of the hospital, and you hit him so hard. Are you even human!"

I'd been away from home so long, and the first time Clara sought me out was for another man.

I never expected that despite all my concessions, she still wasn't satisfied.

"Clara, you brought your lover back to our home. Shouldn't I be angry?"

"Our home? That's my house. I can bring whoever I want there. It's none of your business."

"Dad said you're sick and told me to be good to you, but watching you hit someone, you don't seem unwell at all."

"Levi, you're a grown man pretending to be sick for sympathy. You really have no bottom line anymore."

As soon as Clara started speaking, my ears began ringing.

These two sounds mixed together gave me a headache, so I pointed at the door and said to Clara: "Get out. I don't want to see you anymore."

As soon as I finished speaking, my vision began to blur.

I fumbled for some pills and lay down on the bed in discomfort.

That night, I dreamed of Clara again.

I dreamed she hugged me crying with regret, dreamed she begged me to forgive her with a humble tone.

This time, I didn't soften because of her change. I pushed her away and walked alone into the woods.

In the dream, I walked alone for a long time, so long I thought I'd never wake up again.

This time, my blindness lasted two full days.

After my vision returned, worried and fearful, I went to the nursing home.

But when I arrived, I couldn't see my mother.
