As soon as I answered, I heard Clara say: "Come to the hospital now."

Thinking Clara wanted me to donate blood for Mason again, I responded emotionally: "Clara, can you treat me like a human being! Will Mason die without me?"

"Levi, I'm pregnant."

Clara's words struck like thunder.

My volatile emotions were instantly suppressed.

After quickly changing clothes, I rushed to the hospital.

Clara only mentioned wanting children when we first married, but despite our efforts at conceiving, nothing happened.

Later, as Clara's work got busier and Mason returned to the country, our relationship deteriorated and we stopped trying.

This child, though unexpected, made me extremely happy.

Perhaps this was a gift from heaven, and might even be the remedy to transform my relationship with Clara.

Arriving at the hospital, I saw Clara sitting in a chair, lost in thought.

I walked over and sat beside her, speaking joyfully: "Clara, we're having a baby."

As I reached to touch Clara's abdomen, she pushed my hand away. "Don't touch me."

Seeing Clara's resistant expression, I awkwardly withdrew my hand.

"Let's go home."

"I'm planning to abort it."

We spoke simultaneously.

I looked at her in disbelief, repeating: "You want to abort our child?"

"Yes, I don't want this child."

Because Clara's attitude was so resolute, I understood she was informing me, not consulting me.

"You called me to the hospital just to notify me of this? As for keeping the child, you don't plan to consider my opinion, right?"

To my question, Clara looked at me and said: "I don't want this child because I'm not sure if it's yours or Mason's."
