"Mr. Davis, Ms. Carter's emotional state has been very unstable recently, so she can't receive outside visitors now."

"How did this happen? My mother's condition changed and you didn't contact me?"

"We tried calling you before, but the phone didn't go through, so we told your wife about it."

At this moment, I couldn't care about why Clara hadn't told me.

After asking the nurse, I learned my mother had lost emotional control because of a magazine.

After reading about me being implicated in hiring someone to commit murder in the magazine, my mother's depression relapsed.

After talking with the doctor treating my mother, I took a cab to Clara's company.

"Clara, why did you hide my mother's condition from me?"

"You've been fighting with me every time you see me lately. When did I have a chance to tell you?" Clara was busy with work and didn't even lift her head.

Faced with Clara's such cold response, I angrily went over and knocked her computer to the floor.

"Levi, are you sick!"

"Yes, I am sick. I'm dying. Are you satisfied now?"

Clara's expression didn't change at all because of my words. She picked up the fallen documents and responded coldly: "If there's nothing important, don't disturb my work. I've been very busy lately and don't have time to act out melodramas with you here."

Clara's reaction made me look so ridiculous.

I left Clara's company disheartened.

While crossing the street, my vision suddenly went black.

Unable to see traffic, I panicked and stepped back two paces.

Then, after hearing a horn blast, I instantly lost consciousness.
