**CHAPTER 3 - THE ONE WITH FRIENDS AND SQUID 1.2**

Dahlia suddenly spoke up and explained. She must have noticed my frown. I remember that I chose a room on the 3rd floor.

"Oh I'm sorry, Sky. I forgot to tell you. The room you chose yesterday is currently under renovation. I just checked it a while ago and found out that there are some minor damages that need to be fixed. For the meantime, you can stay in a room on the 5th floor. That room is nice and bigger than the one you chose. If you want to stay there, you can. But if you really want to stay on the room you chose, we'll just help you move things back in when everything is ready." she said.

"It's fine, Dahlia. Any room." I said, but honestly, I don't like the 5th floor! It's as high as it gets. What if the elevator is under maintenance, and I end up on the stairways to heaven in no time?

"You'll love that room, Ate Sky! I was the one who chose it for you. It's actually my favorite room because it's the closest to the rooftop, but Ate didn't want me there because it was too high. So, I decided to give it to you. Easy access to the rooftop. The view is super nice!" AM stated.

Her sister didn't want her to have a room there because it was high. Maybe she thought the elevator might break down, then this kid scolded me. I pretended to be excited by what she said. The rooftop is yours, when the third floor is fixed, I'll be there. It has a balcony.

I was left alone in my room on the 5th floor. Dahlia, PM, and AM had just come down. I just said goodbye and went to dinner. I fixed myself up and changed my clothes. I was wearing a hoodie and loose jeans when I arrived earlier and I changed them into a pink dress. I didn't want to face the food since my friends were going to the mall, and I was going to hang out on the street.

I faced the mirror to look at myself. I also tied my hair in a high bun so that I would look like a respectable professor. When I was satisfied with my appearance, I picked up my cellphone which I had placed on the dresser.

I talked to Luna and Riley earlier. In our gc, I sent pictures of my new room and Riley was so jealous. Like when I woke up tomorrow, he would be right next to me. It's true what AM said, this room is very beautiful. It's huge. The room's theme is red, white, and brown and there's a queen size bed at the center that's so soft. I also have my own vanity dress here, bathroom, and a walk in closet.

Awesome! You're going to get paid and then you'll still be living in such a beautiful room for free? This will be my house for the next, I don't know, months? Years? Let's see.

Actually, I'm calling for that soft bed, but of course, I have to go downstairs because they waited for me for dinner and then what? I'll just let them sleep. Maybe tomorrow they'll pack my things back home. Worse, they'll just throw them outside and let me go home alone.

That's the first thing I need to do, hang out with people I just met yesterday and since it seems like forever I'll only see their faces. AM seems easy to hang out with, Dahlia and I are also close, even with the butlers earlier. The other maids also helped with the cleaning earlier and they were fun to talk to. PM, on the other hand, is a nice kid too, just don't let what happened yesterday happen again.

I feel very welcome to all of them...

Except for one person whose face I still can't see. I tried searching her name on Google, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, even Tiktok, but nothing came up. It turned out that it was on Google. It said she was the heir to the Arentsvelt corp. but she didn't even have a picture. It's weird because the twins have social media accounts and pictures online and so many followers. But she doesn't.

Hmmm, interesting!

I opened the bedroom door to go downstairs and eat. I was about to close it, when I heard something. I heard a tune. More like an instrument playing.

I opened the bedroom door again to check if the sound would stop, but it didn't. The sound was still playing. I followed the sound and as I got closer to the rooftop door, it got louder.

When I was standing in front of the rooftop door of this mansion, I realized that the sound was coming from the rooftop. The door was slightly open, so I could clearly hear whatever was behind it.

That's a piano sound. I'm not an expert in instruments but I know it's not just a keyboard sound. That's an organ playing, someone's definitely playing it. And whoever that someone is, that person is playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata like an expert. Whoever is playing that is clearly skilled. It's not just a simple playing, it's like he's pressing a lot of keys at the same time. It sounds so beautiful.

I don't know if it's the piece itself or if it's the way that person is playing it, but there's something really magical and hypnotizing about all this. For some unexplainable reason, there seems to be something what pierces my heart while listening to him play. I know this piano piece sounds gloomy, but the way that person plays it made it sound even sadder and darker.

I grabbed the rooftop door and slowly opened it. And there I saw the full view of this place. AM's right, this place is majestic. It's so massive. There's a big swimming pool at the center, highlighted by a row of purple lights. The water looked purple because of the reflection of the lights. A few feet away from the pool, I saw a woman playing the piano.

She's wearing a simple mini white dress and she's barefoot. Her slightly curly black hair is loose and down to her waist. She's playing the piano flawlessly. It seems like her body moves as if it's following every melody. She's like an angel playing piano under the moonlight.

I can say that even without seeing her face. She had her back turned from where I was standing.

There's an urge inside of me to come closer to see her closely. I know who this woman is. Well, I know her by her name and I know that it's her because I can smell the same caramel-vanilla scent from where I'm standing.

I started walking slowly. It seemed like he didn't notice me because he just kept doing what he was doing. I had only taken a few steps when someone suddenly pulled me out the door. When I saw who was pulling me, I suddenly came to my senses.

Shit! Why am I walking around when I should be going down to the dining room to eat?!

"D-Dahlia"

A look of nervousness appeared on Dahlia's face, which quickly disappeared and was replaced by a sweet smile. What just happened?

She closed the door behind me and let go of my hand. As soon as Dahlia closed the rooftop door, the sound of the piano outside also stopped.

"Sky, we've been waiting for you. Let's go have dinner." she said.

Using my thumb, I pointed to the rooftop door. "Shouldn't we take her with us? The young lady is outside." I asked Dahlia. If we're having dinner, we should tell her.

"No. S-she said that she will eat in her room."

I was about to ask more questions but Dahlia grabbed me again and pulled me towards the elevator. She seemed to be in a hurry. I don't know if it was because she was very hungry or if she was afraid of being scolded by the young lady for my rudeness.

After our dinner, I got to know the two kids better. They were both so naughty! They had a lot of antics and their mouths were a bit too wide. Dahlia just kept scolding them because some of their jokes had double meanings.

I also learned that since childhood they were both homeschooled. So was their older sister. That's their parent's way of protecting them, AM said. I also learned that they used to live in London. But when they were both 13 years old, they moved to the Philippines. Their older sister lived in London for 23 years. For some reason, until now she has difficulty speaking Tagalog. The twins said that it's only because they interact with other people sometimes that's why.

There's a huge age gap between them and their sister. She's 27, we're the same age. While AM and PM are both 17 years old. Dahlia said the twins are miracle babies. She didn't elaborate on what she meant by that. I didn't ask too much.

Dinner ended and I was left in the dining room. I really left because I wanted to explore every part of the house. The twins went upstairs and even Dahlia went to the room first. It's already 10:45 PM. The one I'm with now is Tanya. She's the maid who gave me the cake last time and the maid who called Dahlia when PM was going crazy.

I guess she's younger than me. She's also smaller than me. She's just normal height. I'm just a little tall as I'm 5'8 tall. Tanya is funny to talk to. She also has a lot of physical mischief. She's also very smart.

After Tanya gave me a tour of the kitchen, dining room, and other rooms, we were walking together toward the elevator. She said she would take me to my room. Neither of us said a word as we walked. After a long silence, I decided to ask a question.

"Tanya"

"What is that, ma'am?"

"I told you, it's just Sky."

"Oh. What is that, S-Sky?"

I was going to tell her to drop it, but I just smiled at him. He'll get used to it after a while. After all, we'll be living in the same house.

According to his story earlier, everyone who works here is staying in. But I am the first professor of the two children who will also be living at home. That information made me wonder but I didn't ask that question. I was here too and signed a contract.

"So this is it," I began.

"You all look happy here. Be it the butler, guards, maid, and even the nurses and other staff, you all seem to be close. You're also close to the two children. What I'm wondering is, why...why do people's reactions always seem to change when you talk about the young lady?" I continued.

Tanya stopped walking and seemed suddenly scared. That's what I was saying. I've been noticing that since yesterday. I've noticed that they all avoid conversation when the topic is their boss.

"What's wrong?" I asked, but Tanya didn't answer right away.
