**CHAPTER 3 – THE ONE WITH FRIENDS AND SQUID 1.4**

Is she just playing FRIENDS theme song or is she watching it? I still hear her clapping along with the song. Animal! Take the clapping. Is this the one? They say she's rude?! Watching a sitcom at twelve in the morning? Do they know this? Is she the one inside or maybe his two siblings are with him? It's more in the nature of the twins watching Friends.

Realizing that she's watching a sitcom during dead hour made me think that maybe she's not really that kind of person as they described. And because of that, I took courage. My ear was still pressed to the door, as I continued to knock on the door.

And then it stopped. Suddenly the Friends theme song stopped playing inside. That's why I stopped knocking and moved away from the door. Shit! I suddenly got nervous. There it was again, my nervousness reaching my throat.

I waited for a few minutes but nothing happened. He didn't open the door. Because of that, I went to the door again. I knocked once, nothing happened. I knocked three times, still nothing.

So I followed the knock one after another. But, I also ask myself where I get my courage from.

After a few more knocks, the door suddenly opened slightly so I quickly backed away to the side. I froze from where I was standing and my heartbeat went wild when I heard her voice.

"What.do.you.want.?" it wasn't a shout or angrily, but you could feel the anger in every word. I can't see her facial expression though, because the door only opened slightly but she didn't come out. What are you doing now, Sky? You're obviously pissed off, right? Or go look for job openings on jobstreet again.

"H-hi. G-good evening. II...II'm here b-because..." I stopped speaking and took a deep breath because I felt like I was about to swallow my tongue. That animal! What's going on? Why am I so nervous?

I heard her heave a deep sigh. The kind of sound that makes you hold back your anger. Because of that, I spoke quickly before I slammed the door.

"I brought you dinner," I said quickly when I noticed that he was about to close the door. "...po" I added because he might think that I had just lost my respect.

After that there was a moment of long silence. I was waiting for her to say something, but she remained silent. The door is still open though. I can hear her small breathing sound behind the door. Why is even her breathing so intimidating?!

And since he didn't say anything, I spoke again. Of course, I'm the talkative.

"I cooked something for you...po. Since you didn't join us for dinner, it's marinated squid." I said as I picked it up from the tray beside me. "I just hope that you're not allergic to seafoods." I said in a low voice.

I wish I can see her facial expression. I want to see if she's fine with it, or mad, or pissed, or whatever? Anything. I can't predict her reaction because she doesn't even speak.

"Y-young lady? Are you asleep yet?" I asked jokingly, but you knew you were asleep.

She still didn't answer. Because of that, I was about to walk over to peek at him from where he was standing, but then I stopped.

I stopped because she finally said something!

"Leave it there." That was all She said and closed the door. It wasn't slamming, just closing it normally.

I just stared at her like an idiot for a few seconds. I was still holding the tray. I didn't hear anything from him. Maybe she really doesn't like talking to anyone and she's still watching Friends, so I won't bother her anymore.

I just shook my head. I felt like I was defeated. But what can you do? You don't want to face it. Maybe one day she'll come out of that room and show herself to everyone.

I just went back to the door, which was now closed, and placed the tray right in front of the door, in front of her doorsteps.

She said leave it there. I don't know which "there" she was referring to.

I woke up to a series of loud knocks on my bedroom door.

"Mom! 5 minutes!" I shouted, wrapping the soft comforter around my face.

Wait, when did I last have such a soft comforter in my bedroom?

"Ate Sky!!!!!" two voices shouted outside, banging on my bedroom door with such force. They almost kicked the door open to free it completely.

Who are those? Are those the children of my mother's friend who used to go hunting with me?

And then it hit me. I quickly opened my eyes and looked around. This is not my room. I slapped both cheeks twice until I came to my senses.

Oh, by the way! I'm not at home. I jumped up and quickly ran to the door.

Am I late? I set the alarm for the start of my class today, right? I guess I didn't set the alarm yet. You can really have bingo at this house, Sky.

And then I remembered what happened last night...

You're embarrassing!

I quickly opened the door and immediately saw AM and PM, both still wearing pajamas. Even Dahlia, who was behind them, was also wearing pajamas.

Well, it doesn't look like they're ready to go in yet. It looks like the three of them just woke up. What's going on?

"Why?" I still haven't answered my own question.
