Preface:(Two murders had already occurred, yet the killer remained at large.
Detective Ross had taken all the pressure, so Lana and I could finally stop living in fear.
But this morning, a corpse appeared at my doorstep.
The head was separated from the body, and there was a smell... like stinky tofu!?)
"What the hell happened here?"
Detective Ross strode quickly past the police tape.
The victim was male, identity not yet confirmed. The death was gruesome—the entire body had turned black, occasionally showing hints of brown, like... like marinated meat from a deli.
His head had been severed and placed on his chest.
Looking down from the head's angle, you could see several blackened windpipe tubes through the neck stump.
His arms had been broken and arranged to cradle his own head.
Meanwhile, the corpse emitted such a foul stench that my entire yard reeked.
"It smells like stinky tofu."
I couldn't help but vomit. Neither Lana nor I could stand that smell.
