The Perfect Revenge Chapter 12
Wilsonville Village Office.
"Chief, did Howard Wilson's son Ken bring home a girlfriend?"
Chief Daniel Brooks thought for a long time.
"Mmm... there was something like that. When he was still alive—must have been seven or eight years ago—he brought home a girl. That girl was quirky, just didn't like greeting people. His family didn't care for her much."
Ross pulled out a photo of Lana.
"This is Lana. I know her. What's this about?"
Brooks was confused.
"Look carefully. Doesn't Lana look a lot like the girlfriend Ken Wilson brought home?"
Brooks examined it closely, then slapped his thigh.
"You know what? She really does!"
They say girls change as they grow up. Seven or eight years had changed Lana, but she was ultimately the same person.
Ross pulled another photo from the folder—Lana's expired ID from the Coastal City Police records.
"It's her. Same hairstyle and everything."
Brooks suddenly shrieked.
"Officer, are you saying this Lana is the killer?"
Ross didn't answer directly. As an investigator, he couldn't make promises before a case was clearly resolved.
"Not certain. Thanks for your help."
Ross gathered his materials and returned to the office.
Zhang rushed into Wilsonville with his team.
"Lana Roberts, you're suspected in a serial murder case. You need to cooperate with the police investigation. Come with us."
Lana sat on the sofa, unmoved.
Zhang signaled for an officer to handcuff her.
Lana suddenly laughed.
"Officer, what makes you think I'm the killer? Please show me evidence. Also, I've already cooperated with many investigations. This seriously affects my quality of life and my reputation in the village. So unless you have an arrest warrant, I won't be going anywhere with you."
"Furthermore, you don't have a search warrant. You can leave now."
Lana showed no courtesy, directly ordering them out.
