The Perfect Revenge Chapter 11

"Why did you meet Jake Wilson?"

Agent Zhang began questioning Lana.

"Because I wanted a boyfriend, and I happened to meet him."

Zhang raised an eyebrow.

"You're from the coast—much more developed than here. Why would you choose him?"

Lana looked at Zhang like he was an idiot.

"When you love someone, there's no reason. I thought he was a good person, so I chose him."

Three words automatically appeared in Zhang's mind.

Love-obsessed.

This Lana was totally love-obsessed!

After questioning both of them, Zhang and Ross fell silent because their stories matched perfectly.

"What if they coordinated their stories in advance?"

Ross sighed. "Agent Zhang, we're only suspicious of them. We don't have direct evidence pointing to either of them."

Zhang understood Ross's meaning. They continued reviewing the evidence.

The evidence chain was very blurry. Many leads could trace back to the killer, but they broke off at critical points.

"Alright, I'll keep looking for evidence."

Ross left the office and sat in his patrol car, lighting a cigarette.

If Jake Wilson and Lana really were the killers, that would be terrifying.

"Detective Ross, Agent Zhang has a discovery."

He'd barely been sitting there when an officer rushed over.

"What discovery?"

Zhang held a document, his expression serious.

"See for yourself."

The document was issued by the Coastal City Police Department.

Before questioning Lana, Zhang had already requested their assistance.

"Lana, full name Lana Roberts, born August 4, 2001. Happy family. Lana hated school from an early age, dropped out in seventh grade and entered society. She dated a boyfriend from our state who was detained for 15 days for disorderly conduct."

"Her boyfriend was from Wilsonville—a man named Ken Wilson, Howard Wilson's son."

"According to police records there, Ken Wilson brought Lana back to Wilsonville. They got into a conflict at the train station."

Ross looked at the materials as if fog was finally lifting.

"So Lana and Jake getting together wasn't a coincidence?"

"Based on the evidence we currently have, it doesn't seem to be. Lana may have been planning for a long time, deliberately marrying into Wilsonville."

"But Ken Wilson died in a car accident five years ago. His registration was cancelled."
