To protect what’s mine Chapter 48

5 min 9.2K views

I’m on cloud nine as Amalie pushes me out of the bathroom. I need a shower and few minutes to myself to calm down my erection. I make my way to the bathroom down the hall that I had been using. I grab a pair of clothes and enter the bathroom. Getting into the shower, I think about the noises that Ama had made.

Goddess, I can’t wait until we mate and mark her. As I start to rub my cock, I imagine all the different noises that she will be making. She will make the sweetest noises. I sigh in relief as I find my release.

I finish my shower and dry off. I quickly get dressed. I’m eager to see Ama again and get breakfast. Cal is waiting by Ama’s door already. I can almost guarantee that he had the same thoughts running through his head as he showered.

I am really glad that Uncle Mike and Uncle Will have such a large house with so many bathrooms. Growing up, I had thought the house was too large. Now I’m glad it was as big as it was.

Joining Cal at Amalie’s door, I’m about to say something when we hear her. “Cal! Mark!”

Cal throws open the door and we storm the room.

What could have happened in the fifteen minutes we all took to shower. “What’s wrong?” I growl as I look for a threat.

Ama starts to laugh. “Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh. I need help out of the shower. You brought me in here without my crutches,” she tells us as she fights back laughs

Goddess she looks divine wrapped in her towel. I really want to take her right now.

Cal gives me a pointed look. I take a breath and go back into her room. I come back with her crutches. Cal has assisted her out of the shower. I hand Ama the crutches and we both leave her.

Outside her room, with the door closed, Cal and I take a few breaths to calm us down. Goddess, this is going to be harder than I thought.

‘We can always complete the mate bond now,’ Aziz says unhelpfully.

I growl at him. I know he is joking, but I do not want to go take another shower. By the time Ama is dressed and leaving her room, my thoughts are under control.

She smiles shyly as she comes out of her room using her crutches. The three of us make our way to the dining room.

“Mommy!” Rose shouts as she sees us enter the room. “Uncle Mike let me help make moofins.”

“Muffins,” Ama corrects with a laugh as she makes her way to the table. I pull out the chair for Ama. She kisses my cheek before she sits down. I smile happily and snag the chair beside her. I was not about to miss out sitting beside my mate. Rose smiles happily and climbs into Ama’s lap.

“So how was your morning?” Uncle Mike asks with a smile on his face as he wheels himself to the table with the basket of muffins.

“Relaxing,” I say as I look him dead in the eye.

“I bet,” he smiles as he sets the basket on the table.

Calyx comes into the dining room with drinks for people. He sets them on the table before returning to the kitchen. He grabs the plate of sausage patties. Once he sets it on the table, Cal sits on Ama’s other side.

I cut up a sausage patty for Rose as Ama breaks a muffin up. I slide the cut pieces onto Ama’s plate.

“Thanks daddy,” she says happily as she starts picking up pieces of her food.

Ama places a kiss on the top of Rose’s head. She then grabs a muffin for herself. She takes a bite before she speaks. “Thank you for letting Rose and I stay.”

“It’s my pleasure. I finally get to spend time with my nephews,” Uncle Mike laughs. “Not to mention, it’s nice to have laughter in the halls. William and I bought this house years ago with the hopes of having a family.”

“If you don’t mind me asking, why didn’t you adopt?” Ama asks curiously.

“Mathew always said no to the adoptions when a pup came in need of a place,” Mike sighs. “We asked him to place pups with us for a time before getting placed with a family. Matt always said that it would be too hard on the kid.”

I frown at that. I didn’t know dad had blocked Uncle Mike and Uncle Will from adopting a child. Dad always talked about how important family was and how children in need should always be a priority. How big of a hypocrite was he?

I felt sparks shoot through my hand. I look down and see Ama holding my hand. “I’m alright,” I assure her.

Uncle Mike let’s out a sigh. “I learned a long time ago that my brother was a hypocrite,” he says simply. “But there was not a whole lot we could do. Your father was Alpha and William moved to the pack to be with me.”

“He should never have denied you,” Cal growls.

We both loved hanging out with our uncles.

“It’s in the past,” he dismisses.

I can hear the hurt in voice. I know that this has to be a sore spot. “So, what’s your plan for the day?” I ask, changing topics.

“Why don’t you go explore the pack,” Uncle Mike says. I see the hurt in his eyes.

“Will you come with?” Ama asks Mike.

“Oh, you go explore as a family,” he says with a forced smile.

She takes a breath and says, “You are family too.”

“Hun, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable,” Uncle Mike smiles gently.

“You did at first, but not anymore. I remember you from when I was little. You were always so kind to me when we were tearing through the pack house,” Ama smiles.

“You three were quite the troublemakers,” he laughs.
