To protect what’s mine Chapter 69

I’m pretty sure Vickie did that on purpose. She had to have. There is no way she did not have that planned. She cockblocked me! I think I have that saying right. I don’t know and I don’t care at the moment. I was feeling amazing and then she yells for us. Vickie is the worst.

We were having a hot make out session, that I was pretty sure was about to take the next step and then she yells. Now, I’m still kinda horny, but my confidence that Beren had been helping to bolster is gone. My stubborn wolf had decided to take it upon herself to start things. She had laughed the whole run back to the stream as we could feel their excitement and arousal as they chased us.

After Vickie yelled, effectively ruining the mood, we started back towards where my clothes were.

“Sooo, did you make up?” she asks teasingly as she spots the three of us walking towards her. She is dressed again and standing beside Sam, who looks grouchy at me. Vickie holds my clothes out for me.

I am hiding behind the twins as we walk. They have no problem walking around naked. I, on the other hand, feel exposed and embarrassed. I think the twins had picked up on that, so they walked in front of me. I swear I saw Mark’s eyes glaze over. He must have mind linked the patrols to stay away until after I get my clothes back on.

Cal glares at her and Mark offers her a smirk. I reach between the pair and grab my clothes. I then retreat behind the pair and scurry behind a tree. I’m dressed faster than anyone could protest that I was leaving their sight. Once I am dressed, I step out from behind the tree. The twins are pulling on a pair of shorts, probably from a clothing stash that we were told in school would be hidden around the pack lands if someone would need clothes after a shift.

The dirt is clinging to my skin. It’s more annoying than it was for Beren. The dirt, for her, clung to us and threw off our scent. For me, it itches and is uncomfortable. I want a shower, now, please and thank you.

“Soooooo,” Vickie asks, wiggling her eyebrows.

“Shower first, details later,” I say as I start to walk home.

“I told you they were having make up sex!” she exclaimed. I turn, just fast enough, to see her whack Sam in the arm.

I roll my eyes and keep walking. I do notice that the twins did not disagree or argue with her. I turn again and this time I catch Cal’s eyes. He raises an eyebrow at me, as if saying, “What do you want me to do about it.” I huff and turn back around.

“She how she is walking,” Vickie starts. I know she is heckling me and trying to get a rise out of me, but it is working.

“Vic, enough,” Sam huffs in an annoyance.

“I want details!” Vickie runs to catch up to me. She links her arm through mine. “Was it as good as you imagined it to be? I know the first time with Jimmy, goddess, it was mind blowing and we not each other’s first.”

My cheeks turn red at her over sharing. Before she is able to get in another word, Cal growls at her. She shuts up and looks at him, and then me, and then him, me again, followed by Mark, and then finally back to me. Realization dawns on her as I see the gears in her head moving.

“I interrupted!” Vickie sighs dramatically. “You didn’t even get to the good stuff before I told you to finish.”

I blush harder.

Cal growls again at her. Sam, seemingly have enough of her, drags her away from us.

“You do realize that I am older than you?” Vickie asks him as she lets herself get dragged away.

“You do realize I outrank you,” he points out as he continues to drag her away, not even slowing down.

“Why do we put up with her?” Cal asks. I look up at him to see if he was joking. I see him smirking, so I know he is not serious.

“Because she is the best and has always supported us,” Mark sighs.

“I swear she does most of this on purpose,” Cal mutters.

“She definitely does,” Mark agrees. “But she has been loyal and a good friend over the years.”

Cal lets out a sigh before he leads the three of out of the forest. Before we exit, I stop. My twins stop and look at me. I see the matching looks of confusion on their faces. Their faces they pull are identical, down to the minute detail. The only thing besides, their scents, that give them away is the gold flecks in Markus’ eyes and Calyx’s straighter hair.

“What’s wrong love?” Cal asks as he takes a step towards me.

“I need to tell you that I am so sorry about earlier. I know Beren apologized. But I wanted to tell you. I wanted to apologize,” I say as try not to let the tears slip from my eyes.

“We understand darling, and we are not mad,” Mark tells me as he steps closer and wraps his arms around me.

“We understand the need to run. We also understand that we are overprotective and probably smothering you,” Cal says as he wraps his arms around me.

“We will try to be more understanding,” Mark says as he presses a kiss to my forehead. He avoids my mouth.

“We will find a better solution then having you roll in mud so you can go run,” Cal smirks as he presses a kiss to my cheek.

“Thank you so much for being my mates,” I tell them as I let the tears slip down my cheeks.

“We thank the goddess everyday for you,” the twins both say as they both plant a kiss on my cheeks.

Mark’s eyes glaze over for a few seconds. He then blinks and his green eyes are pure green with gold in them again. “Now, Uncle Mike said that the cookies are ready, and Rose is wondering where we are,” he laughs as he starts back toward home.

“You okay?” Cal asks as he takes my hand.

“I am,” I tell him confidently as I follow him back home.
