Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 39

Samantha's POV

　　"Are you talking about Jay..... Em" I cleared my throat so as to correct myself quickly. "I mean the Alpha and I?" I asked.

　　Sally nodded. "I know how painful it is to lose someone and talk more of losing the person even though he's alive," she said.

　　I didn't know she cared. I had always thought she didn't.

　　"It's true I'm in pain but what can I do?" I said with a stiff smile.

　　" You can live your life like no other person exists. Just ignore those around you" she advised.

　　" That's what I've been doing Sally but truth be told, it's not easy" I said.

　　" I know but you have to keep on trying".

　　I nodded.

　　" If you are in need of anyone to talk to, remember I'm here for you. I'll surely be rooting for you in all ways" she said softly.

　　" Thank you Sally," I said with a smile.

　　"Today's my husband's memorial" she announced suddenly.

　　I then could help but to look at her pitifully. I haven't found a mate, I know how painful it is to lose someone, talk more of her than lose the precious thing to her.

　　"So I think we could eat together. I would have brought alcohol but we are on duty. We can do that later this night" she said, taking her spoon.

　　I smiled at her and then took my spoon too.

　　"Isn't this food too much for just two?" I asked.

　　" I wanted us to take all our pains on chewing this food," she replied.

　　I laughed. " Why take it out on the poor food?" I asked.

　　It sounds funny to me.

　　" Whenever I feel like crying, I eat a lot of food and cry amidst it. Especially when it's something so spicy. Less I forget, do you eat spicy food?" She asked.

　　Wow! It would be a nice thing to cry when eating.

　　"I do," I replied.

　　We then start eating. The food was indeed spicy but I enjoyed the hotness. Sally and I got to talk and we talked about a lot and at the mist we cried. I was really relieved having a cry buddy. Sally might be hundreds of years older than I am but at this moment, we related like friends. We laughed together and cried together. I really enjoyed my time with her. After we had our fill, she released me to go to work.

　　I walked out of that peaceful place and back to the den of mockers. I did my usual thing, I ignored her. When I entered I saw someone seated in the kitchen. She's not looking like any of the maids or pack's guests. When she turned, I realised it was the Luna. I bowed and passed her.

　　I went to do what I'm supposed to do. I was thinking about my life when I noticed the Luna coming towards me. I wonder what she wants but with the smile on her face, I know she's coming to make me her entertainment.

　　She didn't even talk to me, she just pushed me that the ceramic I held fell to the ground and I saw her fall on the broken plates. She then cried out like I was the one who did it. I was so amazed at how childish she could be. Then my colleagues came to me and started saying all sorts. Some of them even hit me. Their words were so hurtful that I couldn't help the tears that made their way to my eyes. They were almost beating me up when Sally came in.

　　"What the hell is going on here?" She asked in her firm thick voice.

　　Everyone there moved and adjusted. It was there Sally saw the Luna.

　　"Allison" she called.

　　I expected her to call her Luna like the rest of us but she didn't. I know she wouldn't be happy with that but she knows how important Sally is to the pack so she wouldn't dare disrespect her.

　　"Sally" Allison sniffed.

　　Sally looked at the rest of the maids that were there but she gave them a glare and then they went back to their duty.

　　"To my office" Sally commanded.

　　Allison's face was so angry but Sally didn't wait for her to object. I followed Sally while Allison followed grudgingly.

　　Getting to Sally's office, Allison sat down while I stood.

　　"What's going on Allison?" Sally asked.

　　"Just because I corrected her, she then wanted to beat me. She hit me with the plate. I was wondering what I did to her? It was then I discovered that she's Jaylen's wh*re" she said with an innocent face.

　　Sally looked up at me. Allison is the Gamma's daughter and she has a limit in which she could talk to her. If not I know Sally, she hates violent words passionately.

　　"Is that true?" Sally asked me.

　　Allison didn't even let me reply. She just flared up.

　　"Are you saying I'm lying?" She shouted.

　　" I never said that," Sally replied.

　　"Then you have to punish this wh*re else I'll go to Jaylen myself. As you can see I'm the Luna of this pack and I must be respected" she said in ire.

　　Sally didn't say anything. She just looked at her

　　"Call me the guards. I want her to be given fifteen strokes" she said and then stood up.

　　" But......." She cuts Sally off.

　　"Don't you dare but me. She injured the Luna and she should be punished. Call me the guards to take her to the training ground and lashed her fifteen strokes. That's all I've got to say" she said and walked away.

　　She then suddenly looked back.

　　"Don't you dare order me to your office again. I'm not your maid" she said with a disgusted angry look and walked away.

　　Sally looked at me sadly. I know she didn't know what to do.

　　"Don't worry she's just taking it out on me for being with Jay..... The Alpha" I said to her with a stiff smile.

　　I knew I was going to suffer but I didn't mind it. Jaylen's love might be bringing me a lot of pain but I don't regret accepting his love. I still love him and I'll endure anything for him even if it's a hundred stripes. I don't care.

　　"I'm so sorry Sam" she apologized.

　　"It's not your fault Sally," I smiled.

　　Then the guards came into Sally's office and dragged me out. I wasn't even objecting, I just followed them calmly.
