Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 66
Cleo's POV
My husband nodded and then hugged me. I then put a call through to the prison keeper and told him to release Sam's parents. I then ordered him to tell them to wait till we arrived. My husband didn't even say a word as I was doing all these.
Gerard is a good man and acting irrational is a new thing. I know he is regretting his actions by now. If not he would still be talking and trying to prove a point on why he needed to do that.
We got to the pack house and then headed to where Sam's parents were said to be. Immediately they saw us, they stood up. The woman cried herself to wane while the man was there looking so unhappy.
I walked quickly to them while my husband followed slowly.
"I'm so sorry for what happened. It's all my fault for letting things to go this far" I said.
The two looked at each other. An Alpha never apologises but now we are wrong I need to do the apology. I know my husband wouldn't do it. I didn't even disturb him.
"No apologies ma'am" the husband said.
The woman just started another round of tears. I went to her and hugged her.
"Please forgive us. It's just the fear of losing our child that caused it" I said with sympathy.
" I know, I know," she nodded.
"I promise we will take care of Sam. I personally will" .
I pleaded with them for some minutes before I asked the driver to take them home after I made sure the physician gave the woman some anxiety drugs coupled with vitamins. My husband didn't say a word but he didn't leave. He just stood there while I did everything.
We then went to Jaylen's room. Allison was still there. She had in her hand a book and some snacks beside her. I felt this wasn't supposed to be for a mourning mate. But my husband thought otherwise.
"Wow! She's still here" he said with a smile.
When she saw us, she quickly put down the book and stood up. She bowed to greet. I went to my son while he stayed with Allison to placate her that she started to cry again. I didn't even act as if I saw them. I just pray for my son's recovery so that everything will be resolved.
Narrator's POV
Because of what happened in the pack for the past two days, there wasn't joy in the pack. People fear for their Alpha. They knew how much help Jaylen's ruling had given to the pack. None had threatened to invade their pack. They all fear for the mysterious lycan hybrid. Allison has already done her hand work to spread rumours that Sam has already tied the Alpha's soul with her soul. Once she dies the Alpha dies. This made them hate Sam so much. Everyone was praying for their Alpha's recovery but they wished Sam would die in her sleep.
Everything going on also affected Sam's parents. None in the pack wants to associate with them. In fact it was told to their face that except the Alpha recovers none in the pack will have anything to do with them.
Business was bad for Sam's mother. None will want to give her their clothes, even those that have with her withdrew them. Her father had already been advised to take a leave for the meantime because patients won't allow him to treat them. Both Sam and her parents were called witches.
It was even so difficult for them to move around the pack. People will curse at them whenever they pass anywhere. Life became so hard that there's no day they won't feel sad. Yet they never blamed their daughter for what was happening. They trust their daughter so much that she won't go to the extreme to do what they are accusing her for.
The only person who was there to console them was Jaylen's mother Cleo. She too didn't think things were the way it was said to be. None knew that it was Allison that started the rumours but just knew it came from the pack house.
"Ma'am, why are you so nice to us with all that was said we've done to you?" Sam's mother asked.
Again, Cleo went to their house. She's been doing that since what happened. Cleo got to know about the accusations through her maid and this got her so unhappy. She then decided to visit them and she saw how they were treated. Sam's mother was trying to buy some food but none wanted to sell it to her. She then with sympathy went to get all what she knew they would need to survive for the meantime.
"Because I know that all those things they are saying are wrong. People just got it all wrong because they don't have a concrete explanation for what is going on. So they need to blame someone" Cleo replied with a smile.
Cleo will usually stay with them for a while before leaving. She then makes sure to tell them to reach out to her if they need anything even when she knows that they won't. What they didn't know is that Cleo also made sure to fix a guard to always watch over them in case anyone is planning to attack them secretly. She didn't tell her husband any of these.
Cleo couldn't give a reason why she's doing this. She didn't know if she's truly aiding the bad ones but yet, she didn't want to make the mistake of making the innocent the culprit.
