The forensic report came out.

Deceased Susan Miller, 43 years old, height 5'4", weight 119 lbs. Cause of death was a steel rod entering from her back, injuring her heart. The knife wounds on her body were inflicted post-mortem.

Time of death was between 3:30 and 4:00 AM.

This coincided with Lana's statement that she'd been trapped under Susan Miller's mattress.

The scene also confirmed that Miller's mattress had indeed been cut open, the springs inside were disordered, and someone had definitely hidden there.

This left everyone stumped.

The evidence was solid, there was motive, but the timeline didn't match.

Because the surveillance video I provided proved Lana didn't have time to commit the crime.

The blood on Lana's clothes also came back in the report—it belonged to one person.

Susan Miller.

Lana was released.

The reason: insufficient evidence, no opportunity to commit the crime.

The killer most likely wanted to frame Lana but didn't expect me to be perverse enough to install surveillance in our bedroom.

The case hit a dead end.

They could only investigate through Lana's social connections, but Lana had married from far away and rarely left the house in the village.
