*"Does he love me I want to know

How can I tell if he loves me so

Is it in his eyes?

Oh no! You'll be deceived..."*

I belted out the lyrics of that cool 90's tune, jumping up and down on Darius' bed like an overly-excited bunny as I continued to sing. I'd found an old stereo in his room and some cassettes to go with all that vodka and now I had a little party on my own, dancing and shouting my lungs out whilst dressed in one of his shirts and nothing else. It was kinda hot in this room if I were to be honest.

*"Or is it in his face?

Oh no! That's just his charms

In his warm embrace?

Oh no! That's just his arms

If you want to know if he loves you so

It's in his kiss

That's where it is...Oh ooh..."*

My energetic jumping and singing suddenly lost its vigor as soon as I noticed him standing in the doorway, arms crossed but with a rather amused look on his handsome face.

"You're...back..." I breathlessly said with surprise, noticing the way his gaze lastly fell on the object in my hand that I'd been using as a microphone.

"Carina, no!" His eyes immediately widened and I was just about to explain to him where I found it and why I had it in my hand but I didn't get to. Because the very next moment he was already on top of me on that bed, his hand holding my own above my head, right before the gun fired on its own.

I let out a loud scream just as that loud bang rung in my ears, making me startle with fear and close my eyes for a moment.

"Have you lost your damn mind?" My eyelids fluttered open at the sound of his angered voice, watching him hover above me as he took the gun away from my hand and threw it on the floor.

"I thought that it was unloaded, I checked the magazine," I sheepishly told him with a small shrug, watching his gaze narrow.

"And how would you know how to check a gun magazine?"

"I-We had a nanny that knew a lot of...useful stuff and she kinda taught us a trick or two..." I said with another shrug, receiving a curious look from him. He tried to sit up and I felt a tug at my hands, making me realize that I'd been clutching onto his shirt like a scaredy little cat.

I quickly mumbled an apologize and let him go, allowing him to sit up.

"Why are you wearing one of my shirts?" He said, his black eyes trailing over my body with curiosity and even a hint of...something else...

*Oh...Does he actually like the way it looks on me?*

"You forgot to do the laundry," I gave him a bashful smile and batted my eyelids, watching how he continued to look at me as I laid there, his powerful thighs resting either side of my legs.

"Why would you have a gun laying around the house anyway? And with a single bullet in the barrel?" I propped myself up on my elbows, tilting my head to the side.

Damn. He's spinning a little.

"Was that a some sort of suicide method or some shit?" I asked with curiosity before I could even try to stop myself, my word-vomit already activated by those hearty gulps of vodka I had.

I kinda hoped that that was going to be the only kind of vomiting passing through my lips tonight.

He seemed to be studying me for a moment, his black demon-y gaze roving over my features as he kneeled there over me, wearing a simple white shirt and a pair of black pants that hugged his body so snugly.

Crap. Why does he have to look so fucking hot?

"It was," he answered after a while, his tone calm and steady.

My eyebrows shot up and he blew out a tired sigh, closing his sexy demon-y eyes for a second.

"I actually used that gun to end my life with it," he bluntly said, peering down at me as he opened his eyes.

"I put a bullet in my heart. Right here," his hands quickly moved to unbutton his shirt and I had to draw in a breath, forcing myself not to react in any way as he actually looked so damn hot performing that simple action.

Well, he was still straddling my thighs. And I was barely clothed, laying there in his bed. *Oh well.*

He pried his shirt open and pointed to the very middle of his muscled chest, making me squint and sit up closer. I couldn't fucking see!

*Oh. There*. A single and tiny scar stood in the middle of his chest, right over his sternum, marring his flawless and beautiful skin.

"Oh wow," I breathed, reaching out and gently tracing my pointing and middle finger over it.

"Did you die?" I rose my gaze to meet his, genuinely curious to find out.

"I did. You can't actually survive a bullet to the heart, don't you think?" He said with a wry smirk, my lips though gathering to form a saddened pout.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry you died, man," I lightly patted at his tight abs and one of his dark brows raised, his gaze momentarily falling onto my hand that was touching his body.

"Well, I'm alive now," he said and his gaze met my own again, staring down at me with a certain type of heat and a hidden promise.

I didn't know how or why but I liked it. I've been liking it for quite some time now. He was my captor, the monster from my dreams... I knew that I should be scared or even repulsed by him but for some reason, I couldn't find myself to it. If anything, he kinda made me want him more and more, with every passing moment spent in his presence. Which was pretty weird, if I were to be honest. I was still suffering after learning that ugly truth about Nathan and his family and my own father. My heart was still broken because of them. But for some reason, every time Darius was around all those negative thoughts seemed to magically fly away from my mind, my whole being too enraptured by his mere presence. I liked the way he smelt, the way he looked. The timbre of his masculine voice. Everything he did for me, every single gesture and every single touch, everything felt so incredibly...enticing. And the weirdest part of it all was that I wasn't even scared. At all. It didn't even feel odd, at best. It felt...natural. My attraction, my infatuation with him felt so natural, like it was supposed to feel like that. Like I was supposed to slowly fall for him.
