Blood Legacy Chapter 89: 87. All fun and games pt.2

My legs were still shaking a little, feeling the tiniest bit of unsteadiness at every step as we descended the grand staircase, still feeling a little hazy after those five mind-blowing orgasms he'd just given me.

He'd rushed me out of our room right after, not even giving me time to put on another pair of underwear or even bothering to put a shirt on his still half-naked body, his careless choice of clothing and complete lack of shoes making me wonder what was going on...and why were we in such a rush?!?

"Where are we going?" I curiously asked, my bare feet slapping against the marble flooring as he held my hand and pulled me after him through the grand foyer and straight towards the double wooden doors, struggling to keep up with his long strides.

"To run with the pack," he told me with an excited grin and pushed past those heavy-looking doors, my brows however furrowing with bewilderment as I trailed after him.

Run with the pack? What was that supposed to mean? And why did I need to be involved? I could barely keep up with this hurried gait of his, how was I supposed to run alongside an entire group of supernatural beings?

"You're kidding, right?" I let out a few wheezing breaths whilst forcing myself to keep following him down the large patch of manicured lawn, his direction set for that tree-line visible in the distance when he abruptly stopped and let go of my hand.

I'd barely managed to take another gasping breath when he suddenly snuck his arms around my back and underneath my thighs, hoisting me up in his embrace as if I weighed nothing before resuming to his fast walking.

"Better now?" He grinned down at me and I let out a quick and sharp nod, my lungs still fighting to get as much oxygen as possible after that crazy marathon he'd just made me go through.

"I am still not running with the pack or whatever you just said. You rode my ass like a fucking psycho and then you made me run down all those stairs and now I'm wheezing like a fucking dying horse! And my little kitten is still sore," I mumbled that last part mostly to myself, uncomfortably shifting a little in his arms as I could feel that familiar dull throb between my legs.

Damn. He really did a number on my poor little peach this time.

"Aww. I can kiss it to make it feel better if you want to," he wiggled his brows at me and I vigorously shook my head despite those tingling butterflies in my lower tummy, earning myself a startling laugh from him.

I really did enjoy having sex with him but right now I didn't think that my body could take any more. He'd just wrung the fucking life out of me.

"Okay, your little kitten is safe from me. For now," he peered down at me and offered me a sly smirk, making me throw him a mock glower and slap at his chest.

"You're just mean, you know that?"

He laughed again, apparently amused by my struggle and I expressed a childish and dissatisfied pout, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Aww, don't be mad, love. I promise I'll play nicer next time. Here, let me kiss your boo-boo," My eyes widened and shot up to meet his, barely realizing that we'd stopped close to a tree before he gently set me down on my own two feet.

"Nate-"

He grinned down at me, backing me against it before his hands moved to rest either side of my body against the rough bark, effectively trapping me.

My hands shot up to press at his smooth and firm chest, evidently powerless against him as he started to attack me with a torrent of quick and small kisses.

I squealed and started laughing, futilely trying to escape him as he grabbed my arms and continued to pepper kisses all over my face, neck and chest.

"Nate! Please!" I squeaked again and squirmed in his hold, begging for him to stop and let me go between laughs whilst he continued to torment me with his ticklish pecks.

"Nate! Stop!"

A single strangled gasp escaped me as before I could even realize what was happening I was suddenly pulled down under, violently thrown into an altered reality.

Darius, Nathan's older and very dead brother stood before me in Nathan's stead, his dark brown eyes watching me with a certain and very dangerous glint.

I thickly swallowed, instinctually pressing myself harder against that tree in a futile attempt to put some distance between us as I watched him express what could only be described as a manic smirk.

My heart pounded with an urgency, having yet to understand what was happening when his mouth slowly opened wider, displaying a set of very large and gleaming canines, his appearance rather monstrous than human.

I immediately froze, shaking and whimpering with horror as I noticed him leaning closer and closer, until those fangs reached the side of my neck, eliciting a loud and very terrified scream.

I cried out until my throat hurt and struggled against him as I could feel the excruciating pain of those large and sharp teeth sinking in my neck, his strong hands firmly holding me in place.

*"Carina..."*

I kept screaming and thrashing, maddened by the pain and on the brink of insanity when his hands suddenly started shaking me into a quick back and forth motion, jumbling my thoughts.

"Carina,"

"Carina!" I startled at the sound of Nathan's unmistakable voice, blinking a few times before my eyes met those beautiful and vivid green ones.

"It's okay, I'm here," I lastly realized that I'd been screaming like a banshee as my throat really hurt so bad now, my cheeks wet with cold tears.

"It's okay, love. It wasn't real. I'm here, you're safe here with me," Nathan whispered soothing words as he wrapped one arm around me and pulled me closer, placing sweet and caring kisses over the top of my head.

"I'm here, love. You're safe," I was a trembling mess, shaking like a frightened animal in his arms as he held me close to his warm chest and kept uttering those sweet words to me, my tortured mind however still struggling to recover from the violent shock.
