Blood Legacy Chapter 31: 31. Annoyingly sexy

I let out a displeased groan, stirred from my sleep and seriously aggravated by the incessant buzzing sound coming from somewhere closeby, grating on my nerves as I blew out a sigh and raised my face from the soft and warm pillow, hazily looking around.

Strands of long brown hair covered my face, tickling my nose as I tried to blow them away a few times before finally raising a hand to push them away, instantly squinting at the bright natural light that greeted me.

"What the fuck is this shit? Somebody turn these goddamned lights off," I groggily mumbled under my breath, throwing my face back in the pillow to let out an exasperated scream for being woken up in such a crappy way before finally flipping on my back, my brows quickly furrowing upon noticing the unfamiliar ceiling first.

*What the fuck?*

I suddenly shot up into a sitting position as if the pillow had grown spikes, confusion clouding my mind before my gaze fell on the very naked male that stood in a doorway, his private parts barely covered by a white fluffy towel loosely wrapped around his waist.

A sharp and short scream tore through my throat, instinctually gathering the comforter closer to my chest as I warily looked at him.

"What the fuck are you doing? What the fuck am *I* doing here?"

"Good morning to you too, beautiful," Nathan answered with an amused smirk, earning himself a narrowed glower from me.

"What happened? Why am I here? And where is this "here"?" I fired back those questions with a deadly serious tone, leaving no room for bullshitting around as I pointedly eyed him.

"Calm down, nothing happened. I swear. You're safe," He raised his palms in a surrendering manner, however making me scoot backwards between the fluffy pillows as I noticed him advance towards the bed.

The action didn't go unnoticed by him either, his movements slowing down a notch before he abruptly stopped at a relatively safe distance.

"We didn't do anything, I didn't touch you, you just fainted so I brought you here, to rest," He calmly explained, keeping his palms up.

"And this is my place, actually," He added, making me take a casual look at the large and spacious room I was in, taking in the darker hues of its walls and furniture before my gaze landed on him again, just noticing the way those tiny droplets that fell from his damp hair trailed over his naked and very muscular torso.

I blinked and looked away, awkwardly clearing out my throat.

"Why did you bring me here though, and not my place?" I quietly asked after a moment, surprised to notice him coming closer before taking a seat on the bed, his lips parting as he was about to say something when that buzzing sound suddenly came back with a vengeance, making his face contort with annoyance.

"Can you answer that first? It's been driving me fucking nuts,"

My brows furrowed with confusion, staring at him for a moment before my gaze followed his line of sight, surprised to notice the way my phone kept vibrating over the nightstand, persistently showing my sister's name.

*Fuck.*

I quickly scrambled to retrieve it and answer as I knew that she must've been freaking out by now.

"Dre?" I weakly said after sliding to answer and pressing the phone to my ear, immediately greeted by her screeching voice.

"*DUDE, WHAT THE FUCK? Where the hell are you? We've been searching for you since freaking yesterday!*"

"Yeah, I'm-I'm sorry, I was feeling kinda sick and Nathan found me, and-"

"*Wait what? Nathan found you? Found you where?*"

"Well, I was throwing up, so...he took me to the hospital!" I quickly lied between my teeth, wincing a little.

"*To the hospital? What the hell! What hospital? Wait, we're coming over-*"

"No no no no! No no, it's okay, Nathan's here with me! I'm fine, I think it's a private clinic and I might have a very contagious virus anyway so I don't think I'm allowed any visits at the moment," I hurried to say in panic, noticing the way Nathan's left brow raised with intrigue.

"*What? But you just said that Nathan's with you!?*"

"Yeah, I think he's gonna be in here in quarantine with me for a while since he came in contact with me and he might be infected too," I bit my lip, watching him bite his too in an attempt to stop himself from grinning like an idiot.

"*Oh my god, dude I'm so sorry I didn't notice...God, and I've been a total bitch to you yesterday, oh my god I'm so sorry,*" I could hear her worried tone through the phone, my attention though drawn to the annoying male sitting right in front of me as I could notice the way his gaze casually shifted from my eyes to my lips, licking his as those vivid green eyes lingered on them for a moment.

"It's okay dude, you couldn't have known," I absently said, thickly swallowing as I couldn't stop myself from remembering that kiss we shared in the bathroom *yesterday*, along with what followed next.

"*Yeah, but-*" I didn't even hear what she said next as my hand absently lowered, still holding the phone in my hand though as I let it fall over the bed, continuing to look into his glimmering eyes as those words he said in that bathroom echoed in my head.

*Shit.*

"No, it's fine, I promise," I robotically pressed the phone back to my ear to say that.

"*Wait, what am I gonna tell mom-*" I didn't hear the rest though as I quickly ended the call and threw the phone somewhere over the bed, giving him my undivided attention.

"Wow. I gotta say, you deserve a fucking Oscar for that performance," He observed with a wink.

"Who would've known that my mate is such a good liar?" He lightly shook his head with a smile, my mind however still revolving around yesterday's rather *tragic* events.

"I'm...I'm sorry..." I found myself quietly saying, nervously fidgeting in my spot as I couldn't help but feel so goddamn embarrassed.

"What for?"

"For whatever that was yesterday," I cast my gaze aside, drowning myself into the awkward silence that followed.

"It wasn't your fault. It was mine, actually," He calmly said after a moment, drawing my attention back to him.

"Thank you though..."

"Again, what for?" His brows furrowed, curiously looking at me.

I could feel my cheeks heating up with utter mortification upon remembering the way I so *boldly* showed him my ass, my voice coming out so timid and quiet as I explained myself,

"For not giving in to my raging, horny-ass self,"

His gaze held mine for a moment, displaying an unreadable expression before suddenly letting out an amused laugh, taking me by surprise as that was actually the first time I was seeing him performing such an unbelievably sexy action.

My lips parted open in wonder, staring at him like a fucking schoolgirl in love as those dimples deepened, his beautiful eyes twinkling as he showed me those straight and perfectly white teeth.

I thickly swallowed, stupidly managing to dig myself an even deeper hole as my gaze trailed to his still very naked torso, the sight of his bronzed muscles flexing with every tiny movement actively managing to send an impulse straight to my pussy.
