She couldn't contain that secret smile that kept making its appearance over her lips from time to time as she sat there in silence, thinking about what he'd said to her earlier in the parking lot. He told her that she's pretty. He thought that her wolf was pretty.

*Wait. No. Bad Jessie. We don't "fraternize with the enemy", remember?* She mentally scolded herself, immediately schooling her expression into a more neutral one as she sat there in the front passenger seat of her car as he drove her back home.

"I'm sorry," She suddenly heard him say out of the blue, her brows furrowing as she rather hesitantly turned her head to look at him.

"What for?"

He blew out a tired sigh, keeping his eyes on the road as he quietly explained,

"For openly displaying gestures of affection towards Carrie right in front of you,"

"I'm barely even realizing right now that it was all happening because sometimes, I could faintly feel small traces of your wolf's scent on her. Your scent. And it was making me feel so...attracted,"

Her cheeks bloomed with colour at the sound of that, nervously chewing on her bottom lip. She knew why that happened. Her wolf liked Carrie and felt safe around her and sometimes, she would come out for a little bit whenever it was just the two of them, just to feel her.

"It's okay. You didn't know and neither did I. I can't be mad at you for something you weren't even aware of. I mean, it's not like I didn't find you attractive like, at all but still, it wasn't enough to make me actually jealous or anything," She meekly said with an equally timid smile, making David's heart do a somersault as he turned to look at her, noticing that incredibly sweet and endearing look on her delicate face.

*Holy Goddess, she's so beautiful...* He thought as he kept looking at her like a damn fool in love, watching her features suddenly contort with fear.

"Holy shit keep your eyes on the road!"

Her terrified squeal made him abruptly jolt back to reality, just in time to pull at the steering wheel and avoid an oncoming car from the opposite side.

"Jeez, are you trying to get us killed?" She nervously said with a hand over her chest, struggling to calm down her racing heart.

"Sorry," He sheepishly replied with a timid grin, this time keeping his eyes on the road.

However, she noticed how he kept throwing her furtive glances from moment to moment, his attention on her making her feel kinda flustered.

"What?"

"Nothing," He blinked as he stared at the road ahead, a visible tint of red coating his cheeks.

"Whaat," She insisted with a whine in her voice, coaxing him to tell her what was going on.

"Nothing," He tiredly exhaled, lastly giving up,

"It's just that, I've just found you and you're already making me fall in love with you," He rather shyly confessed, that pink tint in his clean-shaven cheeks becoming stronger.

"What am I gonna do with you?"

Now it was her turn to blush, her eyes widening at the sound of that and her heart beating faster again, suddenly feeling so uncomfortable.

*Holy shit.*

**

She didn't dare utter another word for the rest of that ride, sitting in that car seat like it had pins and needles in it as her mind kept reeling after what he'd told her.

*Holy crap.*

Her eyes were still wide, rendered into utter astonishment. Even her wolf felt fidgety.

*Goddess. What is this male doing to us?*

*Damn this. Damn this cunning bond.*

She felt so nervous now she could barely even endure sitting next to him. And the moment he finally parked close to her home she sprang out of that seat as if it were on fire, getting out of that car before he could even try to utter a single word to her.

She rapidly made her way straight towards her front porch, abruptly stopping as if being zapped as she suddenly realized...

"Shit,"

"What?" David said from right behind her, making her startle and turn around to face him.

"I can't go in there,"

"Why?" His brows furrowed, curiously watching her as she started to panic.

"Why? You're seriously asking me why?"

"I reek of you, and Nathan too! Not to mention that I'm so freaking wasted I can barely stand on my own two legs!" She hissed at him, careful not to raise her voice as she didn't want to be accidentally heard by whoever was up in her home at this late hour.

She stumbled out of that alley and went around the back, looking up at the window that belonged to her room. She had to try. It was way better than having to face her parents in this state.

"Shit. How in the hell am I going climb up there now?" She mused out loud as she tried to figure out a way to go all the way up there without falling or hurting herself as her reflexes felt a little numb right now, almost forgetting that David was still there with her until he suddenly said from right behind her,

"What?"

She startled again, whipping around a little faster than intended and thus actually managing to stumble and lose balance, almost on the verge of making acquaintances with the ground if it wasn't for his fast reflexes and strong hands that easily caught her, firmly holding onto her slender waist.

"Whoah, easy there,"

Her cheeks burned as she could feel those tingles in her tummy at the feel of his warm touch on her body, losing herself into those chocolate eyes as she dared peer up at him, noticing that tender look in his gaze.

His marvellous scent enveloped her as she stood there in his arms for a moment, entranced by everything he represented. His smell, his looks, the warmth of his body...

She almost didn't notice that she was slowly pushing herself closer and closer until the very last moment when she suddenly noticed that they were actually so very close to kissing, her eyes widening as she pulled herself away at the very last moment.

"No, no," She shook her head and anxiously paced around as he curiously watched her.

"You gotta stop doing that!" She pointed an accusatory finger at him, watching his brow raise with curiosity.

"Stop what?"

"Stop...that!" She waved a hand at his face and body, making him chuckle as he watched her flail around like a headless chicken for a few moments until she abruptly stopped and then made her way straight towards that wooden panel made for flowers that was attached to the house, blowing out a huffing sigh before she started climbing it.

"You're shitting me," He said with incredulity as he watched her, quickly receiving her irritated response as she peered over her shoulder at him,

"No I'm not. Do I look like a fucking jester to you?"

He chuckled again in response and lightly shook his head with disapproval at her comical antics, simply walking closer to where she was situated as he already knew what was about to happen.

And not even a moment after he stretched his arms out as he heard that crack and slip, followed by her frightened shriek as she fell right in his arms with an "oof".

"Well hello there," He cheekily smiled down at her as her wild gaze met his, watching her lips part as she was about to spew out a reply when the sound of movement coming from somewhere inside the house abruptly caught his attention.

He didn't wait for her to utter whatever she was about to and effortlessly manoeuvred her around in his arms as she was so small and lightweight, draping her over his shoulder before he ran away with her for cover.

He ran and hid with her behind a small shed at the very bottom of her backyard, sliding her off of his shoulder so that he could hold her against him and keep a hand over her mouth as he waited and listened in for any other sounds of movement.

She breathed fast and hard through her nose, still so shook and confused as she had no clue about what just happened, her cheeks though flushing again as she was suddenly very much aware of the way his powerful body was pressing up against hers, making her feel every ridge and every contour.

*Oh...*

Her eyes widened a little bit, her traitorous body warming up in response, sending a pleasurable impulse straight to her nether regions as she could feel *that* too against her, pressing up on her lower abdomen through his sweatpants.

She timidly peered up at him, watching his handsome features contort with a frown as he took an inquisitive sniff and lowered his gaze on her, those chocolate eyes abruptly switching to black.

*Uh oh...*
