My legs trembled with every step, shaking and nervous as hell as we descended the marble staircase and then crossed a grand foyer, our shoes touching the floor being the only sounds echoing around the spacious room.

There was no one in sight. No signs of life, no nothing.

Where was everybody? Where were those maids and butlers I've seen when we arrived?

*Speaking of...* "Don't you feel tired?" I asked as I turned my head and stared up at him.

"You've been driving all night and you didn't get a wink of rest ever since we'd arrived here,"

"Werewolves usually have a greater stamina than a normal human being's. Especially wolves of higher ranks. The higher the rank, the stronger the wolf," he easily answered with a wink, offering me a sweet smile.

We were still trying to forget what I saw back in his room, his hands constantly touching my body ever since I'd shown him that vision, as if making himself sure that I was safe and right there, next to him.

He grabbed my hand from his arm and brought it to his lips, pressing a small and sweet kiss over my knuckles as we reached another set of double wooden doors, his expression warm and reassuring as he turned his head to peer down at me.

"Don't worry, I'll be right here next to you. I won't let you go, I promise,"

But before I could even take a second breath those doors suddenly pried themselves apart, revealing another vast and beautifully decorated room.

I didn't even get to admire any of it though as my attention was drawn to the number of people gathered inside, each of them seated at a very large and intricately designed table.

Jess and David were already here, sitting across who I believed to be his parents as they visibly shared similar traits, engaged into a casual conversation. Jess seemed pretty relaxed sitting right next to her mate and that made me feel a little bit more relaxed myself, knowing that she wasn't so scared to be here anymore.

My sister and Estefany were here too, sitting further away and casually chatting with another older couple, the male oddly resembling to that Christian guy from Nathan's gang at school.

*Oh! Maybe they were his parents!* I thought as I stole another glance at my sister, noticing that sour look on her face as she purposely forced herself not to look in my direction, even though she must've seen us entering the room. It kinda made me feel so sad and rejected but I didn't let it show and quickly averted my attention, continuing to look around at the other people present.

Nathan's father was the one sitting at the far end, seemingly engrossed into a lively conversation with my own father who was sitting to his left whilst Nathan's mother sat at his right side, about to casually chime in when they noticed us.

"Ah, there you are!" His mom exclaimed with a chirpy tone, raising herself from her seat to come and greet us.

I timidly smiled as I watched her approach, noticing that stunning sequined dress hugging her slim body like a second skin, its dark green colour complimenting her chestnut brown hair and those vivid green eyes.

She wrapped an arm around the back of Nathan's neck, forcing him to lean over before she warmly kissed his cheek, leaving a dark red stamp on his skin.

"We've been waiting for you, lovelies," she said and engulfed me into a quick hug, obviously taking me by surprise as I stood there like a damn pole, not even sure if I should've hugged her back or not.

They were royals for Christ's sake! I didn't know how to behave around a royal!

She quickly pulled back and I noticed that every single person at that table was now standing as they all bowed, respectfully greeting us,

"Future Alpha, future Luna,"

*Nope. I am never getting used to this.*

I forced out another smile, awkwardly curtsying as I didn't know how to reply to that either, noticing Nathan fighting back a smirk from my peripheral vision as he was still standing right next to me.

*"I would've totally kicked your ass right now if we didn't have such an audience,"*

*"We can try later if you want to,"* his voice was laced with mirth as it echoed in my head, making me want so bad to freaking kick him in the nuts.

But I thankfully managed to hold myself back and kept that stupid smile plastered over my face, feeling my face heat up a little as they all seemed to weirdly stare at me.

"Come, have a seat," his mother thankfully saved me from that awkward and embarrassing moment, taking my hand as she led us to a pair of seats situated between Jess and David's places and hers.

"Food will be with us shortly,"

I thanked her and sat down, my gaze immediately locking with Jess' as I snapped my head in her direction.

*You okay?* I mouthed out as David was the one sitting between us and I couldn't exactly shout those words at her, watching as she pouted her lips and stretched out a hand as if trying to reach for me before she slowly nodded, offering me a small and saddened smile.

*I miss you,* she mouthed back, making me pout with sadness too.

I made a heart sign with my fingers over my chest and showed it to her, watching her giggle and draw David's attention.

He quietly stared between us for a second, blowing out a tired sigh before raising himself up from his seat.

"Come on, let's switch places," he told Jess and she immediately grinned from ear to ear, raising herself on her tippy toes to place a sweet kiss on his cheek as soon as she was up.

They both looked so incredibly hot as they were dressed so elegantly, David wearing a dark blue suit whilst she wore a silky dress that hugged her slender figure so sexily, its colour just a shade lighter than David's suit and making her platinum blonde hair stand out. She looked amazing in it. *How the hell did I not realize before that she is a wolf too? I mean, look at her, she's a fucking goddess!* I thought to myself as I watched her sit down next to me, throwing her a mildly jealous look that said, *bitch, where did you get this dress?*

It was exquisite!

"David got it for me as a gift," she quietly whispered with a timid smile, her cheeks gaining colour as she dared peer over her shoulder at him.

"Well, then I need myself a David too. I mean look at this ugly piece of *-ishh*," I whispered back, making her giggle right before I heard that angered and silent growl coming from right behind me.

*"Careful, little mate. This wolf doesn't like competition. I wouldn't like to have to fight my best friend over a damned dress,"*

Now it was my turn to giggle, Nathan's words actually sounding so funny in my head as I couldn't stop myself from imagining them doing just that. Arguing over a damned dress like two little girls.

Jess stared at me, seemingly failing to understand why I was giggling all of a sudden before her gaze trailed behind me for a moment, surprise glinting in her eyes as she stared back at me.

"You guys can communicate through mind-link too?" She quietly whispered, her brows shooting up with curiosity.

I simply nodded, making her look even more stunned.

"B-but...you're not a wolf, I mean, does it even work if you don't have a wolf spirit?"

"She's not a wolf but she's not human either. Her blood is filled with magic and she can connect with our wolves very easily. You just have to let her in," Nate quickly answered in a whisper from right behind me before I could even say anything, watching Jess' dark blue eyes widen with surprise and excitement.

"She can? Oh my goddess we should totally try!" She grinned with excitement, earning herself a quick nod from me. Holy shit I totally wanted to try. Being able to talk to my friend without anyone else hearing us? That sounded like every girl's dream come true!

I was grinning too from ear to ear, staring back at her like a happy idiot until I lastly noticed that there were several pairs of eyes already watching us, quickly making me remember what David had told me that night at the Fall Prom.

*..."We actually have a much better hearing than an average human's,"...*

Crap. They've been totally listening in to our little girly chat.

My cheeks filled with heat, leaning back in my seat as I couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by the unwanted attention I was receiving.

I awkwardly cleared my throat and plastered on a forced smile, offering it to every single one of them.

My gaze casually found my sister's again, noticing that scowl still etched onto her features as she threw me a rather disgusted look, making my heart ache again.

It was set in stone. She will never forgive me for what I did.

I forced down that lump forming in my throat and averted my attention to Nathan, fighting that hot sensation brimming in my eyes as I casually stared up at him.

"S-so where are Zara and Brie? I thought that they would be dining here, with us," I quietly said with a small shrug, watching him hold that calm and impervious expression plastered over his handsome features, looking like the veritable royalty he was as he spoke to me through the bond,

*"They're not allowed to. They're our warriors, not our close friends. Estefany is only here because she happens to be your sister's mate and since your sister is an Encantum princess, well, she's allowed to be here with her,"*

"Well that's dumb. I definitely wouldn't do that to them if they were my warriors," I frowned, surprised to notice him fighting that amused smile again before I noticed that everybody was staring at me again, lastly realizing that I'd just said all that out loud.

Fuuuck.

My cheeks flared up again, sinking lower in my seat. I wanted to make myself invisible and save myself from that utter mortification.

What the hell is wrong with me tonight? It's like I have word diarrhea or something!

I suddenly heard Nate fake a cough to mask that laugh threatening to escape him, seconds before his father audibly cleared out his throat.

My gaze snapped to him, noticing he was already looking at Nathan, giving him a pointed look before his dark gaze shifted to me.

"I take it you are enjoying your new home," he casually said, looking at me expectantly.

"Yeah, and maybe next time, you'll even be considerate enough to take your wild encounters into your own bedroom," my eyes widened like saucers upon hearing that sassy comment, my heart threatening to explode from that crippling embarrassment as I snapped my gaze to the source of it, noticing the guy that I thought to be David's father smirking in our direction.

"FYI, the walls are thicker there," he said with a wink directed straight at me, my eyelashes fluttering as I stupidly blinked.

What the fuck!

"Oh, shut up! You've been young and in love once!" The woman with a thick italian accent -David's mom- rushed to scold him with a mild nudge, earning herself a devilish smirk in return.

"And who says that I'm not anymore?" His brow raised as he looked down at her as if he wanted to pounce on her right then and there, the sight of them so playful with each other actually bringing a mild smile to my face.

It was pretty obvious that they enjoyed being together, even though they appeared to be completely different. She seemed nice and sweet and well-mannered whilst he was just wild.

I could see now from whom David inherited his special traits. Not only did he have his mother's chocolate eyes and wavy dark brown hair as his dad had blue eyes and dirty blonde hair, but he also had inherited her warm and sweet nature.

"Dom!" I blinked again as I watched her slap his bulky chest and try to get away from him as he leaned over and tried to kiss her, making me giggle.

"Mom, dad, eww! Cut it out, okay?" My giggle turned into a full-blown laugh at the sound of David's complaining tone, watching him struggle to keep his eyes averted from them, lightly shaking his head with annoyance.

"What? I like this new way of having dinner. I think we should actually do it all the time! You know, just lose these stupid fancy outfits and have a nice and relaxing evening for a change!" I openly gaped at the sound of his father's bold words, directing my attention to him just in time to notice him giving me a smile and another wink.

*"Oh my god David's dad is freaking unhinged!"*

"Holy Goddess. You're an idiot," I heard Nathan's father mutter to him in reply after an audible sigh, managing to make us all burst into a fit of laughter.

*"Look at you. Not even a full day in my house and you're already wreaking havoc,"* Nathan's amused voice echoed in head throughout all that laughter and banter that seemed to have exploded all of a sudden, making me smile again as I looked around me, noticing that they were all much more lively and joyous now. Even my sister seemed to have lighten up a little bit, fighting back a smile as she covertly peered at our father.

However, I couldn't help but lastly notice that girl that sat between David's dad and Christian's parents, her delicate face set into a permanent scowl as she seemed to throw daggers at me.

*"Who's that?"* I asked Nathan through the bond, noticing the way her blue eyes kept sizing me up and down like she wanted to fight me or something, casually flicking her dark blonde hair over her shoulder in a rather superior way.

Yeah, not impressed, bitch.

*"That's Jasmina, David's baby sister,"* he answered in my head, making me realize that she kinda looked like David's dad, actually.

*"Why is she staring at me like she wants to claw my face off?"* I frowned, holding her stupid stare.

I really didn't feel intimidated by her. I've dealt with chicks like her in the past -werewolves or not- and she definitely wasn't impressing me.

*"I'm guessing it's because she still hasn't gotten over that stupid crush on me,"*

I turned my head to give Nathan a disbelieving look, noticing that mildly annoyed look on his face as he continued to explain,

*"She developed this unhealthy obsession over me, back when we were still children. But David is like my brother and I've never viewed her as any more than just that. David's baby sister. Our little sister,"*

*"Well, she obviously doesn't view you as her brother,"* I stated matter-of-factly as I turned back to observe that bitchy look on her face.

*"Yeah, well, to quote David; eww,"* he comically said with a hint of jest in his tone, making me laugh again.
